Excellent shrimp tacos and She Crab Soup ang Gumbo. We went back after 3 years wanting to relive the same good experience as before. Not to happen. First of all it was hot and we had to share a table with another couple. We should have gone somewhere else. When we say the prices were more once there than on line. I wanted grouper. But the dinner was for Grouper was $32.00. Not gong to pay that much. So I Chose Blackened Mahi Mahi. Fish was very thin and not very flavorful. Mashed potatoes were not hot and nothing special. Thought there was suppose to have cheese and bacon and onions. No cheese or bacon just onions. The coleslaw needed more mayonnaise. Dry and tasteless. My daughter ordered fried Shrimp. sent there suppose to be batter or at least flour on fried Shrimp. It was like they rolled shrimp in the bottom of a bowl of flour Without making some more fryer mix to fry Shrimp right, The fried corn was not hot and no butter or anything was served to put on corn. We should have talked to server about our orders especially the shrimp. But the restaurant was to busy and we couldn't get her attention. And to top it off our bill was nearly $100 and we drank water. No alcohol. Look at shrimp below .Do you see any batter or flour? Having paid that much for food we should have been stuffed like pigs and fully satisfied. We left wishing we had left after seeing menu prices. Live and learn.

We visited North Myrtle Beach and had a few people recommend driving north to Little River or Calabash, NC. Crab Catcher's was one that was recommended and we were so glad we stopped there! When you arrive on Water Front Avenue, it is very crowded. Crab Catcher's is around the curve with a large parking lot to the right. Very thankful for that. You can eat outside by the river or inside. We started off with hush puppies as an appetizer. I didn't read the appetizer menu (my hubby ordered them)so I didn't know what to expect when I tried the sauce for the hush pupppies. It was surprisingly amazing! It was a cinnamon butter spread. I have never thought about putting something sweet on a hush puppy. It was great. The prices may seem a little high, but it is seafood and you get a lot of food. The scallops were listed as fried but I asked for them grilled and they grilled them, no problem. They were the best scallops I have ever had! Perfectly seasoned. The mashed potatoes were great too. My husband ordered red snapper and crab. The crabcake was HUGE! I tried a bit of his and we both agreed it was the best crabcake and stuffed crab we have had. Better than your chain restaurants. The whole meal was amazing and filling. Our waiter was very friendly and enjoyed talking to him. Definitely worth visiting!

In 1996 this former fish house became the mainstay of waterfront dining in the historic port town of Little River. Located along side the Intracoastal Waterway, one can enjoy fresh fish, soups, salads, burgers, steaks and other made from scratch seafood dishes. Full bar offers whatever you need to wet your whistle. Limited seating of wood tables and plastic chairs is available on the porch or out on the larger, covered deck and tiki bar overlooking the water. My choice for lunch were the Fish/Shrimp Tacos that came with 6 seafood options, prices vary, and for an extra cost one can have it grilled or grilled and blackened. I opted for the grilled grouper and in no time I was being served two generous filets of grilled, seasoned grouper with lettuce, cheese and their own homemade mango salsa on two flour tortillas. A side of homemade chips made the meal just that more enjoyable. I thorough enjoyed the fresh taste, without all the breading and the presentation was simple letting the portions speak for itself. Service was spot on and prices were comparable to other such establishments serving fresh catch cuisine. Also, one gets the pleasure on their birthday to receive their age as percentage off of their meal. So, when grandpa reaches 100 time to take him here for a free meal. Just saying.

Originally was going to come here and rate this place 3*, with a review that would have gone something like this- "After a long day on the road, my family and I chose to come here as first time visitors to the area to get our first taste of fresh, local, SC seafood. They were only somewhat busy when we arrived on a Monday night, but indoor seating is limited (8 tables, I think?). We were greeted, the waitress took my name and invited us to head outdoors to the bar to wait for a table. I was unsure of waiting at the bar with our 4 year old but the bartender, May Lay, was amazing with her and even made her a special "drink" when she proudly announced she had just turned 4. After waiting around 40 minutes I went inside to inquire how much longer for a table. The waitress said she had called my name for a table and seemed confused. Long story short, another party had taken our table. We decided to leave as our daughter was getting antsy. The food smelled great and the atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for, but I can only give 3* because of the awesome service received from the bartender."

DONT STOP READING- Fortuneatly, we took a dolphin cruise during our vacation and when we passed by Crab Catchers on the ICW (did I mention they have an awesome outdoor patio area right on the water?) the captain pointed it out and said that it was THE best place in town. We are forgiving people who love seafood and had been disappointed by quite a few places we had visited during our trip so on our last night in town we decided to give it another go. I'M SO GLAD WE DID... We had the best meal of our entire trip here, and possibly the best seafood we've had, ever. My husband and I have traveled up and down the Florida gulf coast and tried shacks, huts, fine dining establishments, etc, been to restaurants near home (SE MI) who claim to fly fresh seafood in daily...but Crab Catchers had the absolute freshest, largest shrimp we've ever had. The blue crab bites were amazing. My daughter loved her steamed clams. The catch of the day- Sea Bass, was prepared perfectly. The fries were also homemade, a novelty at most restaurants these days. Our drinks were strong & cold. On top of being an amazing meal, May Lay and the waitress (Kelly, I believe) remembered us from our visit earlier in the week. May Lay made sure we were seated without question and Kelly made sure we were well taken care of and gave some really great recommendations. After receiving our meal, Kelly let us know that she felt really bad about what had happened and she had talked to the owner, who comped our entire meal. It was completely unnecessary but if we return to the area (did I mention we were unimpressed at many of the restaurants we visited?) Crab Catchers will be at the top of the list (probably...

8/19/23..stopped by to sit with my daughter and family while they were eating. I got there after their food was served because I am healing from major abdominal surgery and could Not eat . Walked over and ask their waitress for a glass of tea. Another lady that was standing there interrupted and said “ you can not eat because I have people waiting for the table and when they arrived they said a table for 3 and people were waiting to be seated”. I tried to tell her I did come to eat but just sit with my family while they were already eating. This women never let me finished a sentence and was extremely rude and her tone of voice was less than friendly. I just ask for a sweet tea!! First of all I was not talking to this girl at all. The waitress brought the tea and I tried to explain I just stopped by and again was not able to finish a sentence. I told her the other girl was extremely rude. Waitress response was “she is the owner “. That was even a worse feeling that the owner would act like this. The waitress went back and I saw her telling the “owner” that I said she was rude and they both laughed!! NOW PLEASE KNOW THAT I HAVE LIVED IN NMB FOR OVER 10 Years …Crab Catchers has been one of my favorites and have carried my family there for years …also carried many clients there too. I have owned a business in NMB for more than 10 years and been in my career for 30 years. I would never treat a customer like this. Owning a restaurant has got to be stressful but no excuse for the way she talked to me. You never know who you are talking to and further more being so rude. I just had major abdominal surgery and can not eat anything on their menu right now. My daughter and her family came in from NC for my birthday and to see me. I just wanted to sit and watch them eat . I feel very sad that I do NOT want to go back to Crab Catchers now…I know it’s tourist season and they are always crowded but if you can not talk to people in a decent manner maybe it’s time for the owner to get out of the restaurant business …this is an experience I will never forget happened at one of my...
