D'Annunzio's Bakery — Restaurant in South Carolina

You gotta try the pepperoni rolls! Stopped by to see their offerings, as we love their pepperoni rolls, which we found at Boulineau's! If you are from the Pennsylvania/West Virginia areas, you will know that these are delicious sticks of pepperoni wrapped in freshly baked dough. They don't need to be refrigerated and these were made for coal miners to take in their lunch because they would not spoil. Pop these babies in the oven on 400 for 5 minutes and you have magic. (Or they can be eaten "as is," straight outta the bag!) The owner, whose last name is D'Annunzio, was great fun to talk to and showed us his family's bakery in a historical book on the Clarksburg, WV area. This is the real deal, folks!! They also sell delicious pizza crusts and the most delicious sauce and peppers in a jar (all heat levels are represented). Their "home loaf" breads, such as cranberry/blueberry are a wonderful breakfast treat. The hoagie rolls are crusty on the outside and so tender on the inside. Oh, and they sell canoli, of course, but they were out of them on the day we visited. The storefront faces away from the main road and is tiny, so be sure you don't miss it (a street view on Google Maps will help), but the food is SO big on taste. The bread is fantastic but the pepperoni doesn't seem to be as good as what i ordered from WV from another place. I also thought if FED-X is going to deliver it for $18. that it should be overnight. I also ordered this during COVID-19 so maybe theres a shortage of pepperoni and its OLD?? i’m trying to be polite and i will order again in the future but the pepperoni needs to be better or I will have to go back to the other place to order because we love pepperoni rolls so its all about the pepperoni no...

This place was AMAZING! I read the other reviews and all I can say is DO YOUR HOMEWORK! First of all the low rating for Pepperoni Rolls that states “Beaulinos were better,” …. They make the rolls that are sold at Beaulinos! And who in the world would heat up an eclair?!?! Don’t listen to those 2 bad reviews…this place is the best! Love their bread and pepperoni rolls the best of anywhere!!! Will definitely be back...
