Where to even begin, there is the new trend that is becoming a real issue, advertising fraud by the menu, and here is why. The menu has images of the food and detailed description of the platters they have listed. They are running a Beetlejuice hamburger special at the moment, and in that image in the menu, it's a nice size cheeseburger with all the bells and whistle. The patties are large and perfectly cooked with a nice size amount of meat. The bun was large with a golden hue that made your taste buds go wow with explosive flavors that would match the total capture of the image. What we got was soaked meat patties of grease, tasted like the meat wasn't grilled but oil fried in a frier. The bun was so small that it would perfectly feed a child. The hamburger had no flavor, no grill marks, and no proper ingredients to flavor the sandwich. The toppings were horrible with zero flavor of substance, instead the mouth full of soaked oiled filled meat and the midget size bun that was soggy of grease. The images of the chicken tenders on the menu were large fat pieces of plump meat with a flower coating that was freshly done with quality coating. What we received was a mini version of what was shown but with a cheap frozen counterpart. The salad was missing the majority of its ingredients due to the kitchen not having them available in the inventory. Salad was bland, missing critical ingredients that weren't in the meal but listed in the menu. We enjoy Dennys food and atmosphere but after this experience we were left very disappointed experience. The waiter was very kind and tried to help but was limited in what she could do as the kitchen was out of everything. The manager removed the hamburger, but in truth, the whole meal was a bust. We would rather eat at home than repeat that experience again. The food wasn't edible. They do a switch and bait on you and deliver half the quality and half the size, thinking that you won't notice or not say anything. Food quality has gone down, and the size amounts. Charge you large quality burger and serve cheapest smaller counter part with poor quality ingredients and the only party lossing is the customer. I would be...
Read moreI've been meaning to write this review for a while. My family has had a Christmas Eve tradition, For over 15 years, we would go to Dennys after our late Christmas Eve church service. Some years were busy, and other years we were the only people in the restaurant. Christmas eve of 2022, we came to dennys. We skipped the church service but still wanted to do our family tradition of going to Dennys. We got seated and ordered food and drinks. After about 30 minutes, I went ahead and gave myself insulin for the food I ordered because we figured our food would be coming shortly (there weren't many inside and we ordered mainly sides). As a type 1 diabetic it is extremely important for me to give insulin before I eat. 45 minutes after we ordered, we were told that they were slammed by to-go orders and they said we weren't even on the first screen of orders. They had no idea how much longer it would be. We were not told that before sitting down or when we ordered drinks. I had given myself insulin and had to eat something ASAP or I literally could have died. We decided that we would leave so I could go home and eat something. We offered to pay for our drinks but were told not to worry about it. As Christmas is coming up my family has been talking about our up coming plans. We have decided to forgo going to Dennys and ending our 15 year family tradition.
Its a sad day that to-go orders are prioritized over people sitting in...
Read moreSo I have been here a few times and every time I do I'm reminded why I shouldn't bother coming back. It has been over 2 years, so I thought I'd give them another try. We wanted lunch but since my kid was feeling under the weather I just went myself and ordered to-go.
When I walked in there were two people at the register/host stand. Both ignored me for a couple minutes despite not being busy. I decided to be patient and wait till they were ready because I wasn't in a hurry. When they did acknowledge me I told them I wanted to order to-go and instead of being handed a menu they just asked want I wanted. When I asked to see a menu she reached over, plopped one down on the counter and walked away.
I ordered a moons over my hammy omelet, a double cheeseburger, and two avocado bacon cheeseburgers. The food was good, but par for the previous experiences the orders weren't completely correct. The double cheeseburger was missing the red onions and the avocado bacon cheeseburgers had only a hint of avocado. See the picture. I might as well have not paid extra and just got bacon cheeseburgers. Disappointed. The service is just meh, and it seems you get what they want to give you and not what you order. You would think that being so close to Denny's headquarters in Spartanburg that this classic dinner restaurant would be...
