Eddie's Italian Cafe — Restaurant in South Carolina

At the beginning, server was attentive. After we placed our order and received our food, he only returned after one of us placed our empty drink on the edge on the table. I was not offered a second glass of wine nor were we offered a dessert menu or asked if we would like anything else or if we enjoyed our meal. There were only two tables being served so for him to not check back was unacceptable in my opinion. We also waited for quite a while for our check while he was standing around at the bar. This is a reasonably priced restaurant but the specials which both ordered were $32.95 each. I think that should have been disclosed with the specials description but I also realize I could have asked. I’m not opposed to spending that on a meal but neither entree were even close to being worth that. I didn’t eat the meat on my plate which was crab cakes. They were extremely mushy and not pleasant to eat. I did enjoy the roasted potatoes. I am a local and try hard to shop and eat local. I won’t be returning nor recommending this restaurant. First time here. As soon as we Sat down the server pushed for our order. I knew what I wanted but my husband had to rush order. However the reason I will never return is I ordered Shrimp Parmesan with pasta. I was served a sauce that was cooked with meat. She offered my husband meat sauce with his spaghetti and meatballs but I most certainly did not. I have never in my life been served anything but a marinara sauce over fish. I do not eat meat and who expects to be served a sauce where the meatballs are cooked in the sauce and then put over a fish entree. I said i didnt want a meat sauce and she kept telling me it wasn't a meat sauce BUT that the meatballs were cooked in the sauce so those are just little pieces of meat that fell off. UM then its got meat in it. I ate the shrimp carefully I haven't had meat in 15 years and eat out all the time and never has this happened. I have been to this restaurant several times. I am a local. The food is great, however the service is terrible! When we arrived this weekend there were 2 tables that were available but needed to be cleaned. The woman who cleaned the tables act like she was mad because she had to clean them. She ended up being our waitress, she never greeted us, she just asked us what we wanted. Once we got our food she never came back to check if we needed anything, no drinks were refilled . We sat talking to our friends who were dining with us, waitresses never brought our check, we waited about 30 minutes, we finally had to ask the man that was working for our bill. They only have 2 wait staff working every time we have dine there. Never friendly, it is like you are bothering them by being there! This was our final time eating there!
