It's a common theme now for places not to use appropriate air conditioning, so it was a little warm when we went in. It wasn't hot enough to break a sweat. It's just a little uncomfortable.
The music, though? The music was cranked so loud the waitresses had to yell to hear their customers. It was loud enough that it made my ears ring by the time I left. I'm all for a restaurant playing themed music, but the volume was ridiculous. I was sitting in a booth right next to my husband and had to ask him to repeat himself multiple times. It would have been tolerable if it had been turned down the tiniest amount. Instead, it was loud enough to cause tinnitus and necessitate yelling at each other. I'm now on track for a migraine.
It's a real shame because the waitresses and the food were really good. We had the Sunday special (carne) to share, sweet tea, water, and queso with chorizo in it. This cost us right at $30 before tip, which also wouldn't be terrible... if that cost didn't include a 98-cent charge just to use a card. We don't mind tipping good service, we don't mind costs, we mind nonsense costs like a fee to use a card. Operating costs should be factored in, not left up to customers to pay... if you decide to be professional.
Unfortunately, I don't think we will be returning. Maybe to get something to go would have been better than dining in, but we'll give it a while before...
Read moreWaked in to about five employees staring at me as if I had walked into the wrong building. After about two minutes of trying to check out the menu with the dim lighting over the order window. A guy walks up and just stands behind the register, I asked what do you suggest or what’s your best seller? No response because he doesn’t understand English..I finally offered by number requesting a soft taco in which he responded yes soft taco. My initial order was take out but I decided to order a margarita while I wait from the bar..better lighting at the bar…Bartender pulls pre-mix margarita from cooler, add ice and sprite soda to shaker…salts the rim of my glass adds more ice to the glass and pour the now diluted margarita mix into my glass….got my food and decided to eat at the bar while I finish my drink…food was room temperature. Rice seem to be days old and was immediately sent back..hair in my queso cheese dip…and yes a hard taco when I clearly requested a hard one…once I complained everyone just stood around looking lost…yes the took the wrong items off my bill but I really just wanted the items corrected and a simple apology would have been nice..let’s just say I’ll never return nor recommend this place to...
Read moreThe food was okay. The waitress had to get someone else to interpret and answer my question. I had the Texas Fajita but don't eat beef so I asked if I can substitute it with chicken or shrimp for the same price. She said yes, it will be chicken. I she told me it will come with rice I ordered a side of beans and an order of queso dip. The order came to $29 and some change. (Over charged for what I ordered). I decided not to make a big deal about it. I got my order within 3-5 mins of sitting down. That means it was already prepared and just had to be packaged (not freshly made). I called myself checking the bag to make sure everything was there. I was missing a bag of chips. She tried to tell me she put them in there. I showed her the queso, then she got me the other bag of chips. I got home and there were no beans and only 2 flour tortillas. I didn't call back so I just spent over $30 (including tip) for something according to their menu should have been around $23.00. The fajita tasted okay but the rice was dry. I won't be back. ...
