Legacy Caribbean Bar & Grill — Restaurant in South Carolina

I went here yesterday to support and when i arrived they had an unprofessional security guard “bouncer” outside who did not search me because he assumed i was innocent. When i walked past him he looked at me and said nothing. When i arrived at the counter to order my food i was properly taken care of and the young lady was very attentive ,helpful and professional. After completing my order with her i tipped her and sat down to wait for my food. I ordered two plates, one for me and 1 for my son who was on his way. While i was sitting down with my head down looking at my phone I heard confusion so I looked up and saw my son being harassed. I watched the altercation and my son was harshly approached and fondled by the security guard who assumed he was a robber because he had on a ski mask due to covid that is still prevalent. I looked at my sons face and he was very offended ny his treatment. He then sat down and said i am never coming back here again.

Our food came and we decided to sit and eat because we wanted to eat it while it was hot. We sat at the table and opened our to ho containers to see the wrong food in our containers. They gave me curry chicken that i hate and i gave it back to the young lady to fix it. We sat and waited while swatting flies. The food came back and it was warm not hot which means it wasn’t fresh. I had brown stewed chicken that was red mot brown and the food wasn’t good nor did it taste like cook cared or true authentic Jamaican food.. The tea was not good either. We both looked at each other and asked how did you enjoy your meal? Swatting flies with a dirty windowsill while we ate was yucky. I told a friend about my food and he said oh yeah they sre hit and miss. Huh? The best experience we had was with the brown skin young lady at the register and that’s it. I own a popular business and despise writing reviews but the experience we had last night at your restaurant needed to be shared. I will never come back here again!! Horrible hospitality from your “bouncer” and unorganized kitchen staff giving out the wrong warm food items aka food loss . Extremely disappointed and dissatisfied!...

This My second time here to a disappointment. I wish this establishment give ppl fresh food. I mean everything fresh to go, and not cooked then perhaps sitting for a long periods of time then heated up in the microwave. If I wanted microwaved food I know where to go and not having to pay almost 20.00 a plate. I appreciate the establishment, has music to vibe w and sit down and eat, ppl are kool. But come folks don't know what ppl are going through and just want a fresh hot meal. My food was partly hot and some cold, the chicken was not jerk chicken not spicy jerk at all, and was dry, the Mac an dry cheese😁 no please! Fresh Mac and cheese please, thank you!oh the beans and rice was nuked too and the rice was not fully cooked like eating popcorn. You can tell the food is put in the microwave from the bottom of the styrofoam plate. That's why I posted that pic w the styrofoam plate , the plate starts to melt and draw up looking hard. I do not use the microwave, if I thought I'd be buying food that's been cooked and then put in microwave what's the point. Please give ppl especially your ppl what they are paying for. Not food reheated in the microwave partially hot partially cold food/partially warm dry food. My thing is would you eat this, I mean if a server served you some old dry mac and cheese or food that been sitting and had to reheat it in the microwave. It's very hot outside so, food is not the same after certain period of time. I work hard for My money, and like to think to spend it in the community I live in or passing through. I decided to try something new for lunch with a coworker. We arrived and there was plenty of room on the building ie it wasn’t overwhelming with customers but there were some people there. Our waitress took our drink order, no drink, then another waitress asked if we’d be helped and we told her what we were drinking...still no drink...our waitress returned to take our food order...still no drinks. Finally we received our drinks...20 minutes after we arrived. My coworker received her food first: fried plantains(slightly burnt), coco bread, house salad. She didn’t receive her salad dressing and it was missing the eggs. My food was coming. Finally my food came, but the waitress told my coworker they were out of the salad dressing she ordered. 🤨 so she only had bread and plantains for lunch. I had jerk chicken(slightly burnt), peas and rice, and cabbage. The flavor was lovely but it was room temperature. I had to ask for jerk sauce, but it was also yummy. It was cold which didn’t help with my food. I’d also ordered a beef patty...I never received it. She came and asked how we wanted to split the check...that’s how long we’d been there and still no beef patty. I took almost all of my food to go so I could eat it hot and because I feared sending it back as I didn’t want to wait another 25 minutes. The waitress did give us 15% off, so like a $1.00 for my meal and the flavor was lovely, which is why I gave two stars. If I ever go back, I’ll be sure to order ahead.
