John's Place — Restaurant in South Carolina

Tonight was my first time here. I’m from Georgia and I recently accepted a job here in the area. My team and I left work to celebrate another employee’s last night with us. We ordered and went to the outside area. One of the employees didn’t have his license with him, so he couldn’t order a drink. No problem. Instead, he ordered food and just sat with the rest of us. The bartender came outside going off on the entire group. She told the coworker who wasn’t even drinking that he had to go. Then she proceeded to snatch drinks out of two of my other coworker’s hands, who didn’t even do anything. It all went left and she began yelling at one of the coworkers and the one who wasn’t drinking. She put them out! Another guy who works there came and told them they had to leave as well. Our entire night was ruined! You don’t snatch drinks out of the hands of a paid customer, especially when they didn’t do anything wrong! The bartender also proceeded to check the ID of another coworker a second time after she had already checked out his ID at the bar. I have NEVER experienced anything like this in my life! This was by far the WORST experience I have ever witnessed! Long story short, the bartender is a complete JERK and management needs to seriously rethink having her behind the bar. My husband and I started coming to John’s when we first moved here to Charlotte in March. It’s a nice place with friendly staff and clientele, so we were thinking it was going to become our go to place! The problems are that it’s so busy that it’s a struggle to get a seat inside and that the KJ is very rude. I have some hearing loss, so I would periodically check the list to see when I was coming up. The KJ would give me the stink eye every time I did this even after I explained it to him. I know the list fills up quickly too, so I would put in for my second song about 40 to 60 minutes after I put in for my first. One night the KJ got mad at me for putting in for my second song before I sang my first. Why have a taco truck outside that refuses to serve customers during operating hours? I stood in line last week for 15 minutes with no one in front of me or behind and they refused to take my order. I am a paying customer and simply wanted food. From now on, I’ll bring my own or save myself the money and TIME before I attempt to order your food again. Stop having rude people work. There were about five people in that small truck and the only thing they could do is shuffle around and act lost. I am a short woman (5 foot to be exact) and I am come here often. I will be SURE to make sure people don’t buy the food and save it for the drinks in the bar.
