Really disappointed in the Lugoff location. I placed a mobile order early in the morning at 5:18 AM for drive thru. When I arrived at 5:47 AM, the entire place was closed. Drive thru was blocked, no outside lights on, basically deserted. I thought maybe I had the open hours wrong, but in the app and on the website, drive thru is 24 hours. I understand places close unexpectedly here and there, but I'm not sure why the app would let me place an order if they weren't open. Is there not an option to close mobile ordering? The I10 Camden location stated it was closed on the app, and the DeKalb St Camden location didnt even show up as a location in the app at all. I ended up canceling my order because I was unable to wait until 6 to see if they would open.
Also, previous visits to this location were subpar at best. Drive thru is usually very backed up, dine in is stuffed (typically with Dashers who are being straight up ignored), and curbside takes just as long as drive thru if not longer. My food wasnt really fresh almost every single visit, but I paid for it and I was hungry so it wasn't worth hassling anyone about. Lugoff McDonald's definitely needs some love and attention to streamline their workflow to keep as many people happy as possible and maximize profit. Overall, it is a McDonald's and is on brand for many other locations along the East Coast I've been to. Went this morning and observed the following: three employees on break (e.g. laughing, sitting and smoking) outside while gsf truck was off-loading (should've been my first clue that something was sub-par), when I ordered I made a mental note that cashier didn't ask my wife if she wanted her to add the Splenda or creamer to her medium decaf coffee (strike two), also noticed that there was someone in the drive-thru who ordered same thing (e.g. steak-egg-and-cheese-bagel) but without onions (see where this is going?), the woman who rang the order up punched my order off the display (queue) to clear it out since she'd delivered half the order to the 'eat-in' tray (growing cold) on the counter, drive-thru cashier got the bagel sandwich... asked if it was without onions... was told "no" and (instead of handing it back for MY order) tossed it in the trash, four more orders popped up on the display (queue) monitors before I got mine...12 minutes after the order - no apologies, no genuine concern, no kiss-my-foot, nothing, not a peep... then when I asked for it "to go", one of the employees held open an empty bag (like he didn't know what to do with it). Read moreOrder in drive thru. Waited forever finally received my food and was heading home. Took a sip of mu unsweet tea and realized right away they were to slack to change it before it expired. If you drink unsweet tea you know the rancid flavor it gets when its old. So i checked my bag and realized i didn't get my fries. I was about 2 miles away at this point and i decided to drive back. I walk in and once acknowledged i explain the tea must be old and that i was missing my fries. No apologies and no rush to get my fries. I asked if there was unsweet tea out front and was told yes. I checked it was empty. I decided on diet coke knowing the tea in the back was old and when my fries came up i told the girl the tea was empty out front, just so she would be aware, and no apology no sorry about that or anything along those line that i expect being from the south. Maybe she was new and just nervous or overwhelmed but no personality. Not sure how Chick Fil A does it but they do a good job of getting employees who at least make you feel like they care about you as a customer. Anyway just a bad experience.
