I am a local and always pass this restaurant doing errands My hubby and I were looking for dinner place last night and passing this restaurant we had windows down enjoying night air when we were smelling incredible food smells on our right.Well seemed to be coming from Rustic Table we both smiled and said " let us try there!" The restaurant is by Hammock Shops in Pawleys Island has nicely appointed casual cabin woodsy like interior with exterior porch seating. It was clean and organized. The woodwork was dust free! The hostess a very pretty young girl smiled as we entered and escorted us to our table. Our server a very polite knowledgeable young man was very attentive and gracious.Informing us of the specials and even telling us his menu favorites since our first time. The menu is unique. You will not find another like it in area . Reasonably priced. We had 2 enters a side salad and 2 Iced teas and under 50.00.Will say portions are large.Food fresh and locally sourced.Vegatarian options available. We went back and forth on what to order. Finally deciding on Shrimp and grits....probably best have had so far here, large succulent shrimp cooked perfectly over grits and vegetables..Mmmm. The second choice beef brisket over rice with Lima beans Omg I felt like my grandma was in their kitchen ( ACTUALLY maybe bit better!) It was tender , no knife needed just fell apart the flavor amazing. Asked if we wanted dessert they had some great choices , taking some of our food home for tomorrow lunches, left no room.Sadly next time I will remember and get Southern chocolate pecan pie with scoop ice cream! The manager was on top of the dining room, helping her staff achieve a successful dinner service with flare and a smile.I even took time tell her how much we enjoyed our visit. The service was flawless.Food was cooked and presented to perfection down to blue cheese flavored butter for rolls provided us. I cannot say enough about this wonderful little gem tucked away down in Pawleys. When people ask me where they could go dinner down here I will tell them the Rustic Table and you will not be...
Read moreWonderful restaurant. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly, and was clearly very skilled, as we were a table of eight. The particular night I went, 1 decided to order the PB&J off of the kids' menu, along with a side of grits. To say I was surprised when it came out would be an understatement. The sandwich was enormous, and the two halves were standing on their sides. It came with fruit on the side, along with very crispy and perfectly seasoned fries. I took a bite of my sandwich, expecting it to be just a normal PB&. But I was wrong. The peanut butter was so smooth and creamy, and the jelly was like nothing I had ever tasted. It was more like a pie filling. And the peanut butter to jelly ratio was impeccable. Even the bread was amazing. It was so pillowy, buttery, and soft. If I could sleep on it I would. The fruit on the side was also very fresh and sweet. Then I tried the grits. They were incredibly creamy and delectable, and the perfect southern dish. Our table ordered créme brûlée for dessert, and it came out in 5 minutes. Not only that, but it was incredible. The crust on top was perfect, it had a good crunch to it, and it was perfectly creamy and sweet. Many of my family members tasted it, and even one who is sixty years old and has a massive sweet tooth said it was the best he's ever had. It was amazing, and I would come here every day it I wasn't only visiting on vacation. The other food was good too I guess but I was honestly shocked by how good the PB&J was so l had to write a review. Amazing...
Read moreFirst and foremost, the food here is outstanding. Everything I had here (which was three separate occasions over a weekend) was the best version of it i'd ever had, no exxageration. Over the weekend my wife and I had their smash burger and fried seafood platter, their shrimp and grits (which my wife says are the ONLY grits she's ever liked) and their Ruben special, with housemade corned beef and rye bread, and tonight the meatloaf dinner and Pork Chop special. Second, as a Northerner (I aplogize), I'm not used to this level of hospitality. My wife and I got in off the road after a 14 hour drive and the staff was gracious enough to feed us, despite the late hour. Carrie, the manager, made sure we were looked after, and told us that if we liked the Sweet Tea Collard Greens (a literally transcendent experience) that we had to come back for the grits. Which we did. Kennedy, the hostess that made sure we were fed after a heinous drive down to SC, was so sweet and kind. Lily, our waitress the NEXT day was an absolute treat, attentive, knowledgable about the menu and the area, and a great conversationalist. And tonight our waitress Kristen was, like the rest of the staff at Rustic Table, just the best example of "Southern Hospitality." I know I didn't talk too much about the food, but really, the food speaks for itself. The staff though, they've ensured that anytime we're in the area, they've made my wife and I...
