Howdy folks! If you're ever cruising through Ocean Lakes Campground in Myrtle Beach, SC, do yourself a favor and stop by Sandy's Meet N' Eat. Let me tell you, this place is so good, even my belt wanted to stay for another round! I had the pleasure of dining there with my family, and boy, was it a "grate" experience—pun totally intended!
When we first walked in, we were greeted with smiles bigger than my appetite (and trust me, that's saying something). The decor has that perfect mix of cozy and beachy—think "Gilligan's Island" meets "Cheers." I took one look around and thought, "I'm shore we're going to have a whale of a time here!"
Now, let's taco 'bout the food, shall we? The menu has everything from burgers to seafood, and it's all "egg-cellent." I ordered the Big Kahuna Burger, which was so juicy and delicious it could have its own fan club. My wife went for the shrimp basket, which she described as “shrimp-tastic.” Our kids, Jaxon and Lukas, each got a hot dog, and they practically vanished faster than you can say "hot dog!"
The portions were generous, so bring your appetite and maybe some stretchy pants. You know what they say: "Calories don't count when you're on vacation!" And if you leave Sandy’s without trying their legendary milkshakes, you're doing yourself a disservice. I had the chocolate one, and let me tell you, it was "udderly" delightful. My wife’s strawberry shake was so good it made her berry happy!
The prices were just right—not too "ex-pun-sive" for this dad's wallet. Plus, the staff was as friendly as your grandma after she wins a round of bingo. They checked on us often and made sure we were having a blast.
In a nutshell, Sandy's Meet N' Eat is a real "sundae" best. Whether you're craving a burger, seafood, or just a fun family dining experience, this place is sure to be a "reel" hit. So next time you're in Myrtle Beach, drop anchor at Sandy's and let the good times roll!
Until next time, happy trails and tasty meals,...
Read moreI love coming here. I eat here almost every meal when im camping, however this past time I had a 4 ice cream order and I stood there for 15 minutes waiting and when I heard a number 15 digits ahead of mine with a lot of food I asked where mine was and the very nice lady told me the ice cream window was the next window down. (I was standing directly between the 4 windows so right where the garbage can is because it depends on the workers i guess what window your ice cream is gonna come out) So I go to the next window down and there are 3 teenage girls chatting. I wait and they hand me 3 melted ice creams in a cup, theyre supposed to be in a cone and she says "we've been calling your number for 30 minutes your ice cream is melting" which at first I dismiss this and just ask them to remake them because now theyre melted and not in a cone. So she tells me to just "please take the ice creams because theyre very busy and dont want to put them in a cone" EXACT WORDS DOES NOT 'WANT' TO PUT THEM IN A CONE????and again the other one says AGAIN "I've been calling your number for 30 minutes" they have a microphone that they do not use and they really need to be using it when theyre that soft spoken. But they did start using it after this incident I noticed. So finally their manager comes over and asks them what their problem is and tells them to remake it. The time it took them to argue with me over taking a melted incomplete order was way longer vs the time to just...
Read more10 points for being open on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. My husband and I were staying in our rv in the area Christmas week and didn't feel like cooking. Most establishments were closed early in Christmases eve. Restaurant seemed clean, serving was prompt and prices for only the buffet without crab legs is reasonable. The only objection I had is the crab legs were along with all other choices at the buffet. We chose crab legs and other edibles to fill our plates.
No sooner had we sat down, a waiter abruptly showed up stating in much broken English, if we wanted to keep the crab legs we just set on our table, the buffet would cost $14.95 additional. As we are accustomed to being able to choose crab legs, with no other tacked on cost back home in VA, we could not justify the added expense. The waiter, as abruptly as he had appeared, disappeared with crab legs in hand. We found this to be rude and embarrassing. Feeling that a better system for this restaurant is much in need. Otherwise, most selections were at least fair in...
