New China — Restaurant in Surfside Beach

The food was fresh and good but the staff was very rude I had my kids and nieces with me and after they sat us down the waitress took out drink orders brought them to us but never came back to see if we needed refills ever we had to flag her down to let her know that we needed refills and then after they went up to get more food from the buffet, for maybe their second time before they even got dessert she just stood in front of the table put the checkbook down and just kept saying okay thank you ,okay thank you, okay thank you, like literally three times or more until we just got aggravated and we said okay let's go. Then when we got to the front to pay the tab we noticed that they charged us for 4 adults when only me and my husband were adults so we found out they charge for my daughter who was 10 and my niece who was 9 as adults because they're very tall for their age so when I explained this to the manager she said oh well they're tall so they're adults and I said but it goes by their age and she said okay what's their birthday so after I gave her their birthday she then took out a calculator and said okay I guess their kids and then she changed the price she didn't even apologize for how rude she was or how rude the waitress was when we explained the situation of her rushing us to leave and she just said okay bye even though the food was good we will not come back there again great service beats great food...

On family vacation and thought we would try the new china buffet… bad decision. The food was not all that good especially for the price. Variety was limited which I expected more for the weekend. No refills given due to staff eating in the next booth. But the food wasn’t the worst part. While eating in the dining room the staff decides to do a deep clean right of the room cleaning blinds, baseboards, etc. It was noisy and annoying. I finally flagged down someone to tell them that it wasn’t a pleasant dining experience and one apologized and told the others to stop cleaning. One got an attitude and spoke something in her language and walked away. They said they were getting a head start cleaning due to the next day being Sunday and they needed to prepare for the customers… as if we did not matter. They were nice afterwards but by this time we were fed up and were ready to go. Lost my appetite and only ate one plate. First and last time is...

Food was okay. The finishings, flooring, and carpet reminded me of an old b movie scene where there is about to be paranormal activity. The server dropped two glasses of water then began cleaning and resetting the tables in the row we were sitting. She would come by and ask if we could hand her the empty napkin dispenser, then the condiment rack. After we were done. We asked for the bill, paid in cash. The server looked at my father and insisted that he pay the 15% gratuity. Yes! She insisted and then demanded that we pay her. Because we are normal citizens and descent people, we obliged. I was a little warm and frustrated about it. Isn't it the consumer's decision to give a tip that we suggest? She dropped off water and silverware, asked if we were okay once, then began cleaning and resetting tables. Is that work 15%?? It's a buffet. Gimme a break. I believe th as t tips are a part of your salary but the should be earned...
