My wife and I arrived here on a busy night and were greeted by a very friendly young hostess. There was a short wait so at this point we figured we had stumbled upon some great secret of greenville. It appeared they were honestly concerned with getting us a table promptly running to clean a table for us. We were seated in a booth which looked at though a wild animal had torn it to pieces, for such a crowded place you'd think they could afford to replace the torn seats (also from the prices on the menu) After a long wait we were rudely greeted by waitress who with a frown and a sour voice almost demanded a drink order. This woman reminded me of the stereotypical evil 3rd grade teacher who makes kids cry. She returned many moons later with our drinks and without wondering if we had questions and listing specials just said "what are you having" I'm not trying to be mean but she probably isn't capable of handling a fast paced job and her inability to keep up with the younger staff was wearing on her attitude. She should probably switch positions with the younger friendlier hostess. Our drinks remained empty even after food was delivered. Another much friendlier waiter offered to refill them and even inquired as to how everything was, he wasn't even our server and seemed more interested than the old relic waiting on us, because when all was said and done the food was absolutely fantastic, the sauce was definitely the best part ( I would kill for the recipe) We finished up with a cannoli which was just the right amount of sweet to end the evening. The food was 5 stars but the 2 star rating is because of the horrible service. A restaurant is 50% food and 50% service anybody can tell you that. We will be returning and hopefully with better service the next time around I can give the 5 star rating this restaurant deserves. If you decide to check this place out my advice, get anything with the homemade marinara, save room for desert, and whatever you do avoid that mean old lady's section like the typhoid fever. I cannot understand how a manager of this establishment would allow her to continue working there, I guess they'd...
Read moreI will say that the food was excellent, absolutely no complaints around that. The problem that I had with this place was the service. By far the worst service I have ever had in my life. We placed our order & the waitress comes back 20 minutes later to tell us that they are out of what we ordered, not a huge deal, just may have been nice to have been notified a little sooner than 20 minutes after we placed our order. We then order something else, waitress says that they only have one left of that item, so we then ask her if she could tell us what they DID have. She did not know, so she had to go get someone else. We placed our order, not even really dissatisfied at this point. One person in our party ran out of drink BEFORE our dinner came, asked our waitress for a refill THREE times & needless to say he never received a refill at all. Once everyone had finished & all food was boxed up we had to wait about 25 minutes to get the bill, and we then proceeded to wait another 20-25 minutes before we just got up and found someone to take our payment. My parents had been here before and they had no complaints, i'm not sure what exactly was going on with our waitress that night but she was extremely unfriendly, clearly didn't care that we were her customers because we received zero attention from her. You may want to think about training your wait staff better because due to her, nobody in my family will be back to your establishment again which is a shame since your food...
Read moreThis was our first time visiting Sciortino's and we plan to return once more with an open mind and few expectations. Food was phenomenal! Hands down very tasty and beautifully presented. 5 stars especially dessert. Atmosphere was enjoyable. All tables were full of patrons. Staff quickly bussed and resat tables. We had a reservation and had to wait less than 10 minutes for a table to turn over. Service was nice but lack luster. We were provided plastic Coke cups for our waters and tea while every (no exaggeration) table around us receiving nice water glasses. One tea was left empty after a refill request and server acknowledgement. We were provided boxes for left overs while a few around us were offered bags as well. Finally, when ordering we placed an order for the specialty dessert and coffee. The gelato was amazing. The coffee was the most disappointing part of the meal. A previous review mentioned how flavorful the coffee had been. Something was wrong this evening. The taste was extremely bitter, similar to coffee left in the pot too long. The temperature was no higher than room temperature. To make the coffee less bitter, one guest placed a scoop of gelato in the coffee. The gelato never melted! We did leave the server a 25% tip. We made no requests of the server other than beverage refills. We left feeling slighted and treated differently than others. Again we will try again soon hoping this was...
