A Hidden Gem with Authentic Flavors and Vibes: Scotch Bonnet Authentic Jamaican Restaurant Walking into Scotch Bonnet Authentic Jamaican Restaurant, you're immediately greeted not just by the mouthwatering aroma of authentic Jamaican cuisine, but by an atmosphere that transports you straight to the heart of Jamaica. My journey through Jamaican cuisine - from London to Toronto to Jamaica itself - has never felt as close to home as it did here. The jerk pork was an explosion of flavor, perfectly seasoned and cooked, while the curry chicken enveloped me in its rich, aromatic embrace. The homemade macaroni and cheese and the rice were the perfect sides, each bite a reminder of the care put into every dish. What truly sets Scotch Bonnet apart, beyond the exceptional food, are the vibes. Reggae music fills the air, creating a relaxed, joyful ambiance that's quintessentially Jamaican. The restaurant is equipped with four TVs, ensuring there's always entertainment to match the mood, from movies to sports. The decor is a feast for the eyes, with awesome lights, lush plants, and walls adorned with stunning Jamaican art, making every glance around the room a part of the dining experience. The drinks, too, were a highlight. Ting soda provided a refreshing zest, while the homemade pineapple and ginger juice was a vibrant, flavorful delight that I would recommend to anyone. The authenticity of Scotch Bonnet is undeniable, thanks to the Jamaican owners who bring a piece of their home to every dish. And, of course, the beef patty, shared by a friend, was a flaky, flavorful marvel that left me craving more. Scotch Bonnet Authentic Jamaican Restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it's an experience that embodies the spirit of jamaica. Despite being relatively new and facing the challenge of building its clientele, this place is a must-visit for anyone seeking not just food, but an immersion into jamaican culture and hospitality. Give yourself the chance to be captivated by the flavors, the music, the art, and the unmistakable vibe that Scotch Bonnet offers. It's a call to all lovers of genuine Jamaican cuisine and culture: this hidden gem deserves your attention. Don't let it go...

This was my second visit to this facility. Having recently moved from the downtown area of Myrtle Beach, I decided to give them a try.

I do believe that they take advantage of location having no competition close by .Their prices are skyrocket high. Meals are ridiculously overpriced in comparison to other Jamaican restaurants in Myrtle Beach.

Aside from the Individualized Items, this restaurant is a bit expensive. They take advantage of those who don't know better.

During my first visit, the meat was okay, a bit sweet but the rice and gravy were “scotch bonnet pepper hottttt”.

  • With that being said this facility is not kid friendly Or for those who like Jamaican Food without the heat!!!!

Because I could not manage the spice level. On my second visit, I attempted to purchase a side of Goat meat only since the last order of meat was non spicy

However, upon my arrival for pick-up, I was caught off guard. Surprisingly the menu uploaded by the owner and pictured in the “View Menu Section” prices are outdated I was told by the owner.

Sadly, during the phone call for Order Pick up I wasn't made aware of their insufficiency of meat I ordered until I arrived at the location.

Which was another bummer. I was offered another meat to make up for the Goat meat ordered but I gladly declined.

There were just too many hidden surprises caused in one visit. Because of the overly priced food and lack of communication by the owner on the phone about their food availability, and the wrong price “ they uploaded” . I will not be returning to this facility. I will gladly add another 10 minutes to my drive to receive Authentic Jamaican...

If you’re craving authentic Jamaican food… keep craving. Because what we got here was authentic food poisoning. From the moment we walked in, it was giving “health code violation meets haunted cafeteria” vibes. Overflowing trash cans in the dining area and bathroom, falling decor clinging on for dear life, and a laundry basket full of empty toilet paper rolls like it’s part a “things that belong in the trash” exhibit. The hallway to the bathroom? Completely dark—like a scene from a low-budget horror film. Our teenage waiter mumbled through the whole service and brought us one fork, then another one upon request for three meals—math isn’t his thing. The food? Fried chicken was dry and stale tasted like it was fried yesterday and reheated in regret. The jerk chicken had a strange, sour flavor that was… suspicious. And the brown stew chicken was mostly bones. The mac & cheese was bland yellow chock powder mixed with sadness. Honestly, the rice was the only thing that we suspected may have been safe for consumption. We left feeling nauseous and increasingly unwell. Not full—just fooled. This place isn’t a hidden gem. It’s a public service announcement. Save your stomach. Go anywhere else.
