This is a new restaurant so I went to check it out. I hope that this business will read and respond to their reviews and use the feedback to make this a good restaurant. If not, I do not see it lasting. Right off the bat, walking in the doors I was a little disappointed that its not a sit down and order restaurant. You have to order at the menu board. We were greeted as we walked in but at the same time it was not very welcoming, and were told to wait a few minutes, which was fine because we had to view the menu. Its a nice size menu and is really overwhelming having to view it on a large board overhead. There were 3 of us. I ordered the lil burger with fries and a water, one ordered a burger with fries and a water, and the one ordered a chicken sandwich with fries and a soda. Actually, they never asked them what they were drinking just gave them a cup, I am guessing they do like a combo price when you add fries and a drink. So the water was not free. Our bill was almost $60. No apps, no dessert. I did not get an itemized receipt so I am not sure what we paid. The food was not horrible but it was not great either. The chicken sandwich looked way better than it tasted. It was overcooked and the breading tasted a little off. I asked for the fried onions on my burger and I got grilled onions. (grilled onions are not on the menu and when I see fried onions, i expect fried crispy onions). There just was just not a WOW factor at all, especially for the price that we paid. The scoop fries were good, just not something that would make me want to come back again. I can get a mediocre, overpriced burger on a tray just about anywhere in Myrtle. And Myrtle Beach prices is what I got, not the hole in the wall best burger place like I...
Read moreThe beef is not sourced from Bastrop Cattle in Texas. The chicken is not Bell and Evans, which is a high quality chicken sold at Whole Foods. The fried apple pie and scoop fries are nothing exclusive... You can buy those products at Walmart. Nothing is fresh made besides the meatloaf. Everything is product from Sysco and US food straight out of the bag or can. Mashed potatoes, gravy, cheese sauce is the cheapest product you can buy. Don't understand why Chris Nakis would make up stories about being locally sourcing, etc. Meat comes from Wolverine packing company, nothing is fresh made and there are 2 freezers in his kitchen. I saw the news broadcast about his place and couldn't believe the lies. He still owes employees tips as well. Can't believe this place is still in business. Owner lies about product sourcing. There is no Bison ever in that restaurant was told no one will ever know. The sirloin dinner is the same ground beef smashed into a bigger format. Everything is straight from a can, cheap, heat and serve product. Chris Nakis should be ashamed of himself trying to sell product that is not what he says it is. What a shame people love this very average, overpriced frozen product from Sysco. There is no love in that food.... Good luck. Everything comes straight out of a can .. mashed Potatoes from Sysco , scoop fries are not handmade, onion rings, etc. i understand it tastes okay but there is no...
Read moreMy wife saw Chuck Wagon uses Hummel Hotdogs from New Haven CT which happens to be her favorite hot dog. So much so that when we go back home we fly back with 20 lbs of frozen hotdogs in our luggage. SO of course we had to try the Wagon. I am a hamburger person myself, it being just about the only food I order out.
So of course I got a double BBQ burger and I have to say it is one of the very best burgers I have found in MB. Most places over or under cook burgers. Why? I don't know but the burger at the wagon was cooked perfectly. Juicy perfection. The funny part is my wife didn't get her beloved hotdog. She had the Chicken BLT sandwich instead. It was large enough that she couldn't finish it so even though I'm not a big chicken fan, I have to admit it was very good. The fries are fresh cut (scooped), no frozen blah fries.
We have been there three times so far and the food was excellent every time. In my case I should say the burgers were excellent but our guests were all happy with the other dishes they ordered. I should mention they have a large menu selection, not just burgers and dogs.
The people are nice and provide excellent, friendly service. This is Wednesday and we go to the Dead Dog every Wednesday but we will be stopping here to eat first. I can't see paying top dollar for blah food when I can get good food at Chuck Wagon for a lot less cash. Try it, you...
