I worked at Sonic until this morning they got a new district manager name Lee that racially profiled me soon as I got to work what I mean by discrimination is because of my sexual orientation but that shouldn't matter the 1st day he looked at me with disgust last week when he come in also he looked me up an down this morning with disgust walked in behind me clocking in also when I got ready to clock in like he wanted to fight me or something an then my manager call me outside cause he wanted me which I knew was going to happen anyway cause he was targeting me already an he told me I couldn't have piercings an got on me about my pants trying to change rules that wasn't enforced when I come in didn't like the way he talk to me an followed in behind me. He and the current manager were adding things that were "so-called" in a handbook (which I never received) I walked into the restaurant as I was and was excepted! Then, we get a new DM and the manager was going alone with the dm about all these rules that yet again were in a handbook I never received! I have facial piercings that were ok in the beginning and today a whole new story. I worked very hard everyday that I was there and they were so much favoritism shown in the restaurant by the manager Shocka that was not fair. One manager made me cover my facial piercing with a bandaid and the current manager Shocka told me to uncover it because I worked in the kitchen anyway. My wife and I come 36 minutes there and 36 minutes back, only to get paid twice a month and it was never properly handled. I have yet to receive my daily pay for a couple of days already. Also, it was brought to my attention about a guy in drive thru smelling of marijuana. The manager on duty was well aware of all that was taken place in that store! Lee, has a very nasty attitude and was so disrespectful. My recommendation for this issue would be not to work at this restaurant because they do not uphold anything on their end. Meaning, pay, the food that was taken (by the favorite employees) at no cost! But, a few others are charged for everything! This matter should not be taken lightly, and should be handled properly by the owner of the company! An lee shouldn't have been with this company for 30 something years an the owner really need to look into this an pull the camera footage showing how he looked me up an down an I couldn't even clock in cause this man lee was on my back an targeted me soon as I walked in the door I didn't deserve this being racially profiled an I was a good employee so I hope the owner see this an do something about that man lee as soon as possible it's wrong oh yea an it was at the boiling springs Sonic I love Andy but lee shouldn't be with the company at all cause he discriminate why cause of my sexual orientation an also racially profiled cause we are bi-racial couple I'm a human just like he is it's wrong an need to be looked into by the owner cause a person that discriminate shouldn't be working for this company especially 30 something years but I'm hoping the owner see this an look into this then tried to tell me I couldn't wear my team mask told me I had to wear a sonic mask or regular hospital mask I'm in the kitchen An I was going to wear my mask covid still out here but what did that matter what kind mask I got on long as It wouldn't no profanity or...
Read moreI have just ordered from Sonic for the last time. This place is a joke. First of all, they hardly ever open up on time. There have been plenty of times where I have gone through the drive thru around 7:15 - 7:30am just to be told that they are not open or will be opening later than normal. That happens a lot. Their customer service varies depending on who is working that day, although I have noticed here lately that no one seems to be happy to have a job there in the afternoon. There is one guy that works there (mainly in the morning, although I have not seen him there in a while) that is the nicest person on the whole staff, while in the afternoon, you can barely get the total of your order from the women working the drive thru. Most of the time I have my card shoved back at me before they hand me my food or drinks. I suppose that is better than paying with cash. A lot of times, when ordering over the menu boards, they have a bad habit of keeping your change or "forgetting" to bring it back out to you. I have been stiffed out of at least 3 dollars in change over a period of a few years.
Another issue is that they never wipe the cups off. I don't know how many times I have ordered a drink just to have a ton of it pooled on the top of the lid and then poured down the door of my car or all over my clothes...and don't bother asking for napkins because they will only give you one or two and that means nothing when you are covered in soda. Not to mention 95% of them have no idea that they basically just poured cola on you/in your car because they slam the drive thru window quickly so you won't bother them/ask them for anything else.
Let's talk about their food... I have gone to Sonic for their blasts and shakes, only to get cups full of practically straight milk with very little candy/cookie add ins which is what happened today. There hasn't been a corndog that I have bought from this location that has been cooked all the way through. They are almost always raw in the middle, if not just slightly underdone (which is still gross) from the oil being too hot when they drop them in. You rarely get what you order if you are going through the drive thru and when you do, if you ask for something to be left off, you best believe that they didn't listen or care. I don't know how many times I have had to go all the way back to the restaurant because they have messed up my order or have ignored every word that I said. Everything is over saturated in grease, and even though I am fully aware that this place is a fast food joint, I don't expect to pay for a half inch layer of grease in the morning if I order a breakfast scramble bowl.
I think I will stick with Chick-fil-a from now on. At least they give you your change, they are relatively happy to have your business and their food...
Read moreMy family and I have been to this Sonic many times since moving to the Boiling Springs area four years ago. Unfortunately, like most Sonics, they are slow when it comes to ordering and receiving your food. They have one person running out all the orders, and I usually tip them because they look so exhausted, yet still smile. My order is usually always wrong; I’m constantly having to return food that is either prepared wrong or just simply missing in general. Not to mention lately their shakes have been coming out completely melted (like they made it first then had it sitting there until my burger was cooked). So, why have I put up with it for so long? Well, honestly the food is pretty good and the ice cream is not as fake tasting when made right. Today however was the last straw (May 1, 2019 the day shall live in infamy lol). I ordered around 7:30am and got a medium watermelon slush, add strawberry fruit, and 5 Cinnasnacks. When I got my receipt this is what it said... 1 Combo #18 Cinnasnacks-Med $3.79... 1 Cinnasnacks 5pc $1.30... 1 Slush Strawberry-Med $0.40 ADD Watermelon $0.30. Coming to a total with tax of $6.31. Upon asking the kind drive thru woman what had just occurred, she replied it was simply substitution costs for my so called breakfast “combo,” (apparently making it cheaper than ordering those items individually... which I find that hard to believe since it’s 1/2 price drinks in the early morning hours and those Cinnasnacks actually cost that exact price individually). But ok, fine, so I just said thank you and willingly paid for my food. I drove away with this this complete feeling of stupidity for spending that much on 5 little bite size snacks and a medium drink. I could have gone to Chic-Fil-A got a biscuit, hash browns, and a medium/large drink all for $5.50 or less... or actually any fast food place in the area. So, that’s what I will now do. It’s like I just keep going back to Sonic hoping they will be better than the time before, only to get more disappointed in their price of fast food and constantly wrong orders. Maybe one day they will realize why they are never very busy, unless a school games gets out late, and start upping their game for the handful of customers they do get. They have a lot of competition, and up charging isn’t going to keep them in business to much longer once people actually start looking at their receipts to see where their money is going. Anyway, rant is done, but just thought they should fully know why they lost...
