I am as shock as everyone else, I can’t believe I found this delightful hidden gem which had been right underneath my nose this whole time; I admit I do frequent this particular plaza a lot due to another store located just a few feet away; however, a nice lady was closing up a store front next to the chocolate shoppe and said good morning, as I was replying to her; I smelt fresh chocolate chip cookies lol and I could not resist. The prices are reasonable and the portions are aswell, I was greeted with a free chocolate chip cookie before the man even asked what I wanted which to me was a very nice gesture which shocked me lol I looked at the wrapper in awe that they would just give me a free chocolate chip cookie just for entering. I drive trucks for a living but I live close by and I have not experienced a old style chocolate shoppe like this before; very simple and well thought out boutique for great cookies & chocolates. I will now become a regular of this establishment; quick side note as I was placing my order another man emerge from the kitchen and interacted with a seem to be regular, he knew exactly what the regular wanted and that’s old school customer service that you can not find anymore because everyone has become...
Read moreWe don't eat a lot of sweets, but we love to check out small shops such as this one. With a 4.9 overall rating on Google and the fact that this place has been around forever I was really expecting to be blown away. I had such high expectations of this place there was no way I could be disappointed. Unfortunately I was.
We were greeted with free chocolate chip cookies as advertised. They were cold and tasted ok. I bought an assortment 2 chocolate chip, 2 butter, 2 snickerdoodle, 2 country oatmeal and 2 sugar cookies. All very soft and fresh. However they just lacked flavor. The chocolate chip were ok, the butter were flavorless, sugar cookies pretty flavorless as well, snickerdoodle I could taste the cinnamon so I give that one 4 stars, and the country oatmeal was pretty bland as well.
I had such high expectations and just knew this would be a 5 star review. I did try some peppermint patties and they were probably an 8/10. I can't get past these cookies. I've honestly had better cookies at grocery store bakeries.
This place is a staple so take what you want from what I say. Maybe I don't know what I'm talking about, but it...

While my dad would go to the Lake Forest Quickstand for specialty magazines, he would let my brother and I run next door and grab a cookie. For him, I am sure it was a way to keep us out of his hair, but for us it was a special treat that we always looked forward to.
Nearly 30 years later, these cookies are still delicious and unlike any others. You really feel like these are grandma's homemade cookies. The chocolate chip pecan cookies are my FAVE!!!
What I LOVE: You're greeted with a free full-size cookie upon entrance. The cookies are the perfect size - not too big, not too small. There is usually some BOGO special that allows you to buy a dozen or two for the office or a gift without...
