Tiki Taco — Restaurant in South Carolina

This place sucked. I’m a server & I like to give people grace but holy cow this place sucked so bad. The atmosphere was awful. The service was awful. The food? Awful. No flavor at all and we got our food and it was cold! Our drinks? Literally we ordered michelada with modelo and one with corona I think and they both tasted like water no michelada mix nothing like it was so watery?? I took them to the bar and requested them be taken off our tab and instead give us margaritas. The margaritas taste like liquor and liquid sugar that’s it but at least it had alcohol . Honestly the whole experience there was awful. The staff isn’t friendly at all either. Also the manager who was there when we requested the micheladas be taken off our server said her manager said we couldn’t have them off our tab because we didn’t like the drinks I told her it’s not that we didn’t like them it’s that they taste like water girl no beer at all??? We took a sip and immediately sent them back ?? Like we didn’t even drink them. Honestly there’s so many bad reviews I don’t know why I even went. Ordered take out from here for the first time tonight. Was really hopeful that we'd love it as its very close to the house. Unfortunatly, the food was good but not great. The price is good though for sure. But nothing that wows you flavor wise. They forgot my order of street corn. I called to tell them they forgot and no one answered the phone. Also with the Birra tacos, I'm a long time line cook myself and have made pastor & birra in restaurants, you gotta go through when its being shredded and pull out the big chunks of sinew and fat. On every single taco I was pulling out big chewy chunks of gristle and fat. The shredded beef was actually tasty, but after the second taco I opened the third one up before eating it and picked out the big fatty chunks before eating because I kept having to pull them out of my mouth on the first two tacos. Overall it was alright, the price is good, but forgetting items (we only have like four things) and the food not being particularly great isn't a wonderful...

We walked in and was told to seat ourselves which was nice. We got our drink order in, and was waiting for 2 more. We received no napkins, no salsa and the chips tasted stale for 11am. The servers were just sitting around eating and playing on their phones. The rest of our party arrived and by that time we were out of drinks. We all placed our order with empty cups, and it wasn't until our food came out that we were asked if we needed refills. The wait for food was close to 40 minutes and there was only 3 other tables in the building. Our food was cold and our waitress was nowhere to be found. We paid after only being checked on once throughout our meal. I was only going to leave 2 stars, but the manager/owner came in as we were about to leave and was extremely kind and attentive. He took our plates, asked if we were okay and even offered refills. Within 5 minutes the staff was running around, and the music was lively. I guess there needs to be management here all the time for it...
