September 11, 2016: We decided to give Zaxby's a try again and let me say it was a mistake. We waited over 15 minutes for our orders when there was only one other family and they came in after us. Then our orders were wrong and we were told "Well we have to handle drive thru orders and dine-in orders." Sorry but you're in a service industry and its you're job. I doubt I will EVER return to this location no matter how convenient it may be. If I could rate it less than 1 star I would because of the incompetence and rudeness of the staff.
July 29, 2016:I have had mixed results with this Zaxbys location. The first time I went was awful. They weren't staffed or trained to handle their customers at all. Since then I've gone several times and I will have to say lunch is usually better. They are less crowded and seem well staffed and I get my food in a decent amount of time. However I must also share the experience my parents had at this location on July 29th.: "My husband and I just spent 50 minutes waiting on our food at the Indian Land Zaxby's. Service was worse than when they first opened. They were filling drive thru orders but no dine in orders. After 50 minutes our food was put on the order filled counter and it sat there for at least 8 minutes and they didn't have a call ticket so they wouldn't give it to me. Their excuse was that help didn't come in. I could see that no one was filling orders. I don't think anyone knew how. Most of the customers were taking their orders back because they weren't right. Read moreI am one of those people that usually only writes a review if something is really good or really bad. This one is an odd mix, their food is good but I have never seen a fast food place ran this poorly. At 11:30 today I'm pulling into the parking lot behind two other vehicles, the first car stopped at the speaker then drives off, the second pulls up then drives off, I pull up and there is a sign the drive thru is not working. I go next door to Wendy's and I'm in line behind the same two vehicles. If something is broken it's not a big deal but this is the 4th time I'm aware of the drive thru has been out in about the last 3 weeks. Why not put on the sign to order at the window or put someone out there to take orders? Why not fix the drive thru speaker? Last week I stopped in and the drive thru was working and had a line so I thought I would just go inside and eat. The dining area was closed and the door was locked. No idea why. All of my experiences have been between on a weekday between 11:30am - 1:00pm, I would think lunch would be a good time for a fast food restaurant, Wendys typically has a line around the building. To whomever owns the franchise it's your business and you can run it however you want but I would think getting costumers in the parking lot is the hard part, why run them off. Read moreI am writing to formally share my recent experience at the Zaxby’s located in Indian Land, SC.
On my visit, I ordered a Zax Packz, normally priced at $34.99. I requested that half of the tenders be tossed in lemon pepper sauce while the other half remain plain. Upon reaching the window, I was told my total was $54.55. When I questioned the charge, the cashier—who was polite and appeared to be new—explained that the kitchen had noted my request. However, I later discovered through my bank app that I had indeed been charged $54.55, despite not receiving all 20 tenders tossed.
I attempted to contact the store by phone multiple times without success. Eventually, through your customer service line, someone from the store texted me instead of calling. When I asked about the excessive charge, I was told there is a $14 upcharge to have tenders tossed in sauce.
With respect, this policy seems unreasonable. Charging an additional $14 for sauce on top of a $34.99 family meal is excessive and feels misleading to customers. Unfortunately, this experience has left me extremely dissatisfied, and I do not plan to return to that location.
