The whole teenage crew was clueless and rude. The "manager" was spraying the floor with a hose pipe between the registers and the counter where orders are bagged. Water was splashing FROM THE FLOOR onto both counters. When one of the other teens asked for her to grab the order in the window (my food) she dropped the dirty hose on the floor, took two steps and grabbed my food container and started bagging up my order WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS. When I said that she cant handle food containers without washing her hands she turned to me and impatiently stated that "my hands are CLEAN sir". I stated that she had just dropped the cleaning hose before grabbing my food. She acknowledged that fact with a shrug of the shoulders as if to say "so what". I then pointed down at the hose ON THE FLOOR and said "where is that clean hose right now?". When I asked the girl who took my order (the only courteous person behind the counter) if the "manager" girl took my order to the back (out of my sight), another girl (about 5ft tall and appearing to be in grade school) that had been standing around doing absolutely nothing the entire 15 minutes I had been waiting, chimed in sarcastically with "Well OBVIOUSLY she went back there to redo your order since you had a problem with THAT one." It was at this point that I wanted my money back and I told the mouth she should obviously watch her smart mouth. This was of course followed by ANOTHER rude girl with an assortment of fish hooks and other wire embedded in her face jumping around the corner admonishing me for my tone towards the little round girl who had a tone with me. Then she suggested I make a formal complaint in a manner as if daring me to. As if she knew that any complaint would be disregarded. Im guessing the Zaxbys corporate officers will have a different view of this incident when my video of the girl spraying water with a hose behind the counter where orders are prepped and then handling food with dirty hands is published on all social media. Also, my exchange with the other clueless clowns was on video too. They either didnt even realize it or just didnt care. Either way, the health inspector may also have an interest in the video. We will see soon enough. I will NOT pay for mindless children to disrespect me while handling my food in an unsanitary manner. I WILL NOT tolerate it. And save your reply apologizing for my "less than excellent" experience. Obviously it is automatically generated. But what isnt automatic is this franchise getting to keep operating in the same manner with no...
Read moreI came through the drive thru today 5/28/22 at the Zaxbys in Clover South Carolina it was not too busy at that time. Someone needs to call the Health inspector i was reading these reviews of found a dead bird. My mom takes seizure medications so i had to get food for her to take her meds. I ordered 2 cobb salads with no bacon and 3 chocolate cookies. I was told by the drive thru person that there was a wait for the cookies. She asked me to pull up to a white line and wait for 15 minutes so I did. We waited, waited and waited until I looked at my watch and seen 30 minutes had gone by. So I decided to call the Clover Zaxbys location and a male answered and identified himself as the manager and we got into an argument and i informed him that we had been waiting for our food for the last 30 minutes and no one from Zaxbys let us know our food was ready. I was told later by another employee that looked like she had sores on her arms that the manager is Vincent the manager hung up the phone on me and informed that he was not going to give me extra cookies as part of good customer service for us waiting in my car so long and was never told by an employee if our order was ready. It started getting busy but My mom takes Medication so I had to get food for her to eat. We got inside and I found out that our order was wrong so we had to wait again...until they made two new Cobb grill chicken salads. I left my black Honda and had to sit and wait again on the inside dining area. I finally got my cookies and my two cobb grilled chicken salads after an 1 hour wait. This was so frustrating and I will never come back to this location. Vincent is a poor manager with no customer service experience and there was no remorse for hanging the phone up on me. My mom finally took her seizure medications. I told Vincent i was going to write a...
Read moreWhile most fast food restaurants in the area struggle with the quality of their food being consistent, this doesn't seem to be a problem for Zaxby's. The food is always fresh and fried to perfection! The chicken is juicy. The fat, crinkley fries are usually well seasoned. If you're in the mood for some quick comfort food, this might be just the place for you!
I have to say, the decor of the restaurant is actually quite nice and you feel right at home. It's not often you get a bit of ambience in a fast food joint. Also, the Zaxby's vocabulary signs posted everywhere are amusing to read while you're waiting on your food.
So why did I knock off a couple stars? Well, I think the prices are a tad high. They're not unreasonable, just a bit high. For example, we were having a tailgate party for the Carolina/Clemson game and we wanted to get some wings. We looked at Zaxby's but they charge $8.99 for 10 wings. That's not a terrible price but to get enough wings for 10 people would have cost a small fortune. Instead we ended up going right across the street to Publix and got DOUBLE that amount for only $1 more. And they were just as good quality.
The other thing I had to knock a star off for is the health factor. It's probably not a good sign that you're about to eat a healthy meal when on the menu they remind you that the average person needs around 2000 calories per day. Just about any meal you choose will get you at least 60% of the way there in just one sitting. Add a soda and dessert and you've blown your entire daily allowance in one meal!
So, in conclusion, I do recommend Zaxby's if you're in the mood for some high quality, delicious fried chicken. Just make sure you skip breakfast and/or lunch so you'll have plenty of room and extra...
