Engel's Sports Bar & Grille — Restaurant in South Euclid

My husband and I both ordered the Double Loaded Steak and Shrimp Potato and it was FANTASTIC! We were very impressed by the quality and care that was taken into preparing our food. Honestly, we were already upset by the experience we just had over the phone w/ the girl at John John's in E.C. so, we didn't really expect the food to be as good as it was when we decided to order from here instead. We were pleasantly surprised! Since the pandemic the quality at a lot of restaurants has gone down, ppl have lost their way and don't really care about the customer, the service, or the quality of what they're putting out but not here, they care! The steak was so tender and juicy and the shrimp was cooked to perfection!!! The lady put Love into the food she cooked. You can tell that she left a piece of her soul in the dishes she made and that's something you just don't come across too much anymore. I almost wanted to be selfish and not leave a review so I could help keep this place under wraps as one Cleveland's best kept secrets but with food like this how could I, everyone needs to know about this place and taste what they're cooking!!!! Just Spectacular!!! My husband and I went again last night and she has out done herself again, the Shrimp Alfredo was LIVE!!! The Love she puts into the food is PRICELESS!!!...

So... THIS is where I'll be getting my oxtails when I'm too lazy to make them! They were excellent. I got the oxtail dinner, a beef patty, and a side of plantains. The portions were impressive, and everything was seasoned perfectly. The beef patty was basically the same beef patty you'd get everywhere else, but that's okay because they're always good. But, back to the oxtails... soooooo tender and meaty with the perfect amount of gravy! I was happy enough to have a great, well-made meal, but the spinners knocked me off my feet! I've had Jamaican oxtails from here to California, but no one's ever added spinners to my meal! If you don't know, they're yummy, dense, cylindrical dumplings. They made me SO happy! I try to be honest when I make these post. I am not from this part of town and was a little uneasy entering the bar as I was the only one there and that the online pictures didn't express it's quaintness. Turns out to be a nice little establishment. The food was good bar food. I think there may have been only one person doing everything, cook, serve, bartend, clean etc, so service was a little slow, but she was polite. I had the buffalo wings, they were crispy but not over cooked. The entrance was on the side street side so it took me a minute to find it, since parking was in the back and other side of the building. My guest was a vegetarian, we managed, but they might want to have a box of vegan hotdogs in the freezer just in case. If you think I am fair in this review...
