IHOP — Restaurant in South Hill

Let me start by saying I have not ONCE written a review, but if I could give 0 stars I would. My fiancé and I just got back from eating at this establishment which I have had good luck with before. We came in at about 2:30 and Kasha or Kasta (I don’t care) seats us. We placed our drink order as we had family showing up. She comes back with drinks and by this time, the family has shown up. But, my fiancé was in the bathroom, and she sighed heavily in response to that. I let her know she should be right back. She takes the other family member’s order and the second one is unsure of what they want. I apologize for the inconvenience trying to be nice, and she replies rudely “It’s not your fault.” (Wow, awesome customer service skills bud.) She then moves to my fiancé and I trying to rush our order. (Mind you this place was DEAD.) We order, and then she moves back to the other family member who orders, and then she is confused as to what we’re talking about, as if it’s not on the menu. We literally showed her the menu and asked, isn’t this what it is called? She then says okay, and takes the menu, no ETA, no thank you or ANYTHING, just walks off. She comes back in 10–15 minutes, which I would say is kind of fast service for a restaurant. She has one plate stacked on another on each side of her arms (Disgusting!!! It’s awesome to know that you don’t care about keeping our food clean!!) My fiancés gravy for her food is soggy, and her side salad’s plate was warm, the cheese melted, and ranch spilled all over the plate. My fiancé then asked for a steak knife and the waiter argued back with “I brought you one,” and my fiancé replied with “No, I didn’t get one.” The waiter huffed and puffed as she had to go ALLL the way back to the kitchen to get a steak knife. She then drops the knife and leaves without saying anything. At this point, I have 2 empty cups of drink and so does my fiancé, and she walks off without asking or anything if we want a refill. While eating, she drops our checks off and tells us she’s going on break. We finished eating and went to pay our checks. My family member went first, a co-worker said that the check wasn’t split correctly, and she had to go get the server. The server comes up 5 minutes later. After arguing with the co-worker about having to cash us out, she sighs as she comes up to the register. My family member attempts to pay, but asks what’s the best way to use the card he had, she just replies “chip!” loudly. He inserts the card, and then before it displays a message to remove the card she hurriedly says “Remove the card.” The receipt is then thrown at him and asked to tip (Can you believe this?! You want a TIP?!?!) Then she moves him to the side, so I can get some of her attitude. I proceeded to pay, but I did tap didn’t want to deal with her attitude at that point. She slammed the receipt on the table in front of me and, as I tried to grab it from her. I signed and threw the receipt back at her and walked out.

The IHOP on Meridian Ave E in the same parking lot as Regal Longston Cinema has amazing customer service. They have made me feel welcomed with a warm greeting when I walk through their doors compared to other places where I have not received even a, “Hello.” It has been about a month that I have been treating myself to breakfast to support my health.

The waitresses usually ask immediately as I am seated if I would like a fresh pot of coffee. The environment feels homey as they have bilingual staff who speak both English and Spanish. Since I have to keep an eye on my vehicle as it gets vandalized at most places that I park at in Puyallup, they have been flexible with letting me sit where I can see it at all times. This makes me even more appreciative of the friendly staff at this restaurant as they help secure my safety along with my belongings in my vehicle.

The food is delicious and their four signature syrup flavors are available at the table each time I have visited. Sometimes I cannot get the strawberry syrup to spill out of the spout of the bottle, but they have been good with allowing me to grab a bottle from another table. A new dish that I tried is the Cinnamon Bun Crepes and I get a side order of 4 sausage links. The crepes are topped with a cinnamon and cream cheese drizzle filled like a cinnamon roll with warm cream cheese. There are also strawberry slices placed on top making the flavor poppin’! People should try it.

Every single day, the manager is always consistently making his rounds checking on each table to greet everyone happily with a smile, checks on their orders, and has good relatable conversations. UPDATE: HOW SAD TO SAY THAT THE OWNER DIDN'T BELIEVE WHAT MY MOTHER AND I SAW😔😔 HE CALLED ME A LIAR AND HUNG UP ON ME!!! Oh my gosh what a nightmare :-(so my mom dad and I were trying to enjoy a wonderful breakfast yesterday but it turned into a nightmare right before our eyes. The general manager his name is Ruperto was being abusive and treated his Mexican buss girl very bad. He kept on humiliating her over and over in front of us and you can see it in her eyes the embarrassment and you can tell that she wanted to cry but instead smiled. My mother and I we just kept on looking at each other in disbelief. We didn't want to make a scene but I did get his information and I reported him to corporate. I really truly wish this inhumane person gets fired. He's racist as well he treated the white girl very well and was smiling and accommodating to her but he kept on downgrading the Mexican busser, and he kept telling her over number to hurry up why are you working so slow you need to work faster which she was doing a very good job. this practically brought tears to my eyes I was shaking and trying not to cry but I had to hold it together because my dad didnt want me to make a scene. I truly wish I had the power to immediately have him fired because there's just no way that a person like that should even be in a position such as a general manager to treat people like that.
