I usually only write good reviews and let the bad stuff go, but I feel I must share this experience so other are not treated like my grandfather and I were. My grandparents bought a used Wii system last week from this GameStop. Unfortunately the eject button was broken when they bought the refurbished system. Yesterday he went back and swapped it out for another refurbished system. Turns out this one was worse then the other and had a broken eject button, plus structural damage. Today I went to this GameStop with my grandpa to make sure the next one worked fine before they took it home. When we started talking with the kid behind the desk he started to give us attitude about the Wii being broken. We asked if we could test the system before we leave the store and he was not thrilled that he had to do work. After the Wii was tested and everything worked he packaged it back up and gave it too us. We told him that there was a game (Wii Sports) stuck in the Wii that we were giving back to them and asked if he could get it out or replace it with another copy of Wii Sports. He said "no, there is nothing I can do and we can't replace that game." It was not there property or some excuse. So I asked him what should we do? He shrugged and said I don't know. So I suggested I take the Wii apart and get the game back if there was nothing we could do. That was when the manager Scott decided to do something and help with an issue that a MANAGER should have been dealing with in the first place. Even though his employee was giving us attitude and treating us like we were annoying him, Scott did not intervene or even care that costumers were feeling mistreated. After Scott stepped in the kid under his breath said, "it's not like an expensive game." That was when I was pissed, but did my best to stay calm. Scott didn't say much, but tried to get the game out of the console. After my grandpa and I were standing there waiting he finally just grabbed another copy of Wii Sports and threw it on the new Wii console and said here! Basically get out of my store and stop making us do our job.
So if you want to deal with a kid that really doesn't want to be at work and a manager named Scott who could careless about his customers go to this GameStop. If you are a serious gamer, you know to avoid GameStops everywhere, but for those who know little or nothing about gaming, avoid this GameStop! I feel bad having to write this, but I feel worse for my 80+ year old grandparents having to go through all this for no reason. Have a good day and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had a weird interaction with the employees here when I came in to trade my version of Madden 24. According to their website I was supposed to get $20 in credit. Once I got there Casey the cashier tells me that Iām only getting $17. I tell her that on their website it shows, āstore credit $20.ā She goes on to tell me that she canāt override the computer so I have to take what sheās offering. I end up showing her their website that shows the trade in credit is $20, then her coworkers jumps in and says that Iād only receive the full $20 credit if I was a pro member, thatās when I tell them their website states that pro members receive $22 and non members receive $20. They both look back at the website then look at each other and have nothing to say except that they canāt change it. Thatās when I said ok never mind and left. I ended up going to another location where they did give me $20 in credit. Itās weird that they kept coming up with excuses instead of being honest but what can you expect when GameStop employees arenāt train to do anything, but...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFriendly experiences, each time I go. Wish they had alil better selection on 360 games, but š¤·āāļø what can they really do?? The main thing that bothers me is, this last time I frequented, I had a $3 game I was exchanging. I forgot my receipt, but it showed on my elite pro account and was within the return period. I recall several times, at other locations, being told they prefer you to have a receipt, but that they can look it up on your account and do a return or exchange NO PROBLEM. The guy said, āwe canāt give you a cash refund or anything, but Iāll do the exchange for ya.ā He even mentioned heās not really supposed to do the exchange, without a receipt. He did the exchange which is all I wanted, so fine, but I had to confront the issue. I told him how Iāve been told SEVERAL TIMES and IVE DONE IT BEFORE where theyāve looked it up by account. He went on to argue with me and say thatās not accurate and that they can only use your account history info to make ārecommendations.ā šš on that one. The rest of my visits have...
