I recently made the decision to finish my dining at Applebees this past winter solstice. I had been there long enough, and my time had come.
6 years ago, I entered this very Applebees alone, but came out with a family I will remember forever. Back on the farm, my sister had been diagnosed with a strange disease from her last TacoBell meal and became bedridden. We visited doctor after doctor, finally one telling us one solution. The kids menu at Applebees. Since our horses passed recently in 400 B.C, I was forced to travel 900 miles on foot to get to this Applebees (there were none closer). I'd heard stories of a true warrior, pure of heart, who only helped those without allergies. His name, Nick. After he founded the restaurant, Nick went undercover as a server to stay #humble to his own people. When I arrived, cold and tired, Nick offered me a glass of salt water, his specialty. I slept for 3 nights and 361 days. On the 3rd day, Nick made chicken. Once I was seated, I expressed to him that I was unable to travel back to my home because I too, had caught the Taco syndrome. He assured me that he had seen this before and he knew the cure but it was too late for me... but maybe not my sister. Nick took his remaining camel and galloped back to our village to find every last person infected with Taco syndrome. Being the gallant warrior he is, he dedicated his life to saving my family and many others.
Nick took care of the village for 6 short years traveling back and forth from Applebees to our land on the prairie, always making it back on time for his shifts. He is a true hero. If you come to Applebees...be sure to...
Read moreCould not imagine a dumber experience. We just suffered an 8 hour trip to Rhode Island (supposed to be 3 hours) due to horrific traffic and a perpetually car-sick toddler. We chose this Applebee's because it was in the same complex as our hotel. We ordered an appetizer and two dinners. When I arrived, the pickup process seemed a bit confused (food wasn't waiting at the host stand like the app said). I checked the bag that was eventually delivered for contents and confirmed 3 items. Got back to the hotel room to find that the very expensive appetizer was missing (1 of the 3 containers was about half filled with fries alone). Called the location, they said they were sorry that they forgot a bag. Why is there a need for multiple bags when 3 items were ordered? I asked for a refund as I was very tired and did not feel like walking back to pick up the bag they forgot. They offered a gift certificate, but I said I would really like a refund. After 'manager approval', I was told the refund would post in 7-10 days. I received my 'refund' and it was only about 60% of the cost of the item that they did not provide. And I tipped up front on the app. Awful experience. If I had the time to fight over $7 I would, but I don't and I'm guessing they're banking on that. If you MUST order takeout here, do yourself a favor and don't tip on the app. Make sure to disassemble whatever bags they give you in location to verify each food item ordered...
