Pokemoto — Restaurant in South Kingstown

if i could give a 0 star rating i would. placed an order before closing, as a food worker i know it’s annoying to receive orders before closing, but if it was placed it still has to be done. was given a notification about 2-3 minutes later to replace the sushi rice for one of the bowls since it ran out. i go to replace it to brown rice and call just to make sure everything is all set. when i get on the phone im told there’s no sushi rice, so i ask to replace it with brown rice as i selected afterwards and then im told there’s no brown rice. why not just cancel the order as a whole then instead of giving me the option? i then go back and forth with the person on the phone because now they’re telling me that they have NO ingredients to make the bowls, when that just isn’t true. soon after the employee puts me on the phone with the manager, and i’m basically given the same robotic answers. the manager then explains they close for online orders at 7:45PM so they have to fix that on uber eats. after more back and forth the manager has the audacity to tell me that i should have placed my order earlier in the day??? i shouldn’t have to place my order earlier because YOU don’t know how to put the correct time on uber eats....

I took my three sons for dinner today and it was an outstanding experience. I love and have had Poke at many places in LA, in the Bay Area, TX, FL, NYC, VA/DC and the poke here rivals the best I’ve had. The freshness and quality of seafood, the topping options, the sauce quality and options are profoundly excellent and the prices are very reasonable. Tim, the owner, is the best possible ambassador of his product and establishment and the rest of the staff’s professionalism, knowledge of menu options and guidance was exemplary. One of my sons has a nut allergy and they were great about accommodating him and ensuring no cross contamination using a simple but effective system to reduce all possible risk (and we had no issues). If you haven’t had Poke, you are missing one of the planet’s most nutrient-rich and explosively flavorful meals and there is no better place to try this (outside of Maui) than Pokemoto. If you have had Poke, this will be as good as the very best...

Very sad to leave this review because I loved this place when it first opened. Tonight was a very different situation. The young man working tonight was exceptional despite the fact he continuously had to apologize for items being out of stock, mixed greens, corn to name a few. He was getting low on many other items and hopefully there were replacements. He was also working alone and manning the food stations as well as the register since the other co worker called out sick. Despite this he maintained a pleasant attitude. Finally, the credit/debit machine was not functioning properly and he needed to explain and apologize to each patron. I truly empathized.
