International Pocket Cafe — Restaurant in South Kingstown

As soon as we walked through the door of this mostly takeout restaurant, my daughter and I were greeted cheerfully by a friendly man who immediately handed us two complimentary falafel with hummus. We ordered, and the food was prepared in front of us. Customers can see the prep area through the glass case. All the food was fresh and the case itself was pristine. I ordered a lamb gyro pocket and my daughter ordered the chicken gyro pocket. The meat was fresh and juicy. At the last moment, I ordered a side of falafel, but my daughter had already paid. When I told the owner, he said not to worry about it. That was very kind. We sat outside at a bistro table. The plaza at URI was mostly quiet on a Saturday, but there was a steady stream of customers here. Here for our annual summer vacation . We were looking for a good restaurant to eat halal food , we needed a Change from sea food . I looked for a place to eat and found this nice restaurant , I read the reviews and I was sold . Glad we came . We ordered chicken wraps for the kids , falafel sandwiches, steak wrap for hubby. Everything we ordered is amazing and delicious. Wraps are so big , my kids couldn’t finish it . It is a hidden gem . I hate to write negative things. Only because this was so awful am I writing it. Chicken gyro was big chunks of dry tasteless chicken. Pita was breaking like it was dry. First bite was only dry big chicken piece, not sauce or veg though we asked for everything. No flavor. Mango smoothies were extremely sugary and not real mango- had a fake taste.
