Kingston Pizza — Restaurant in South Kingstown

I ordered food online at 9:48 because they said they closed at 11pm. I got a confirmation email saying my order was received but it never came. So at 10:45 I called to see if anyone was coming before they closed and they said they had canceled the order because they were closing when I put it in even though it was within normal business hours. I received no cancelation email and no phone call. I understand if you close early and cannot fill out an order but if so you need to communicate with the customer because now I have a group of people who are hungry but by the time I got the information about the cancelation (which I had to go out and find for myself) everything else was also closing. Can’t comment on the food itself but I will surely be taking my business elsewhere.

Edit: in response to the owners comment, I understand if online orders have a different time than the actual store but it was not made clear enough on the website and if that is the case the system should not have let me order or there should not have been an email sent out confirming my order. So I would recommend reprograming your website to avoid confusion for future customers. Also a phone call or an email regarding the cancelation still would have been nice so that I knew the order was in...

While waiting for my food, I chatted up the older gentleman I saw in the kitchen area. I said, since it's RI (I hadn't been in RI a while at the time), ”Say, do you have spinach pies?" The man seemed enraged. ”Why would we have spinach pies here? What's wrong with you? This is a PIZZA place!" I'm thinking, whoa buddy, you serve lots of stuff... Did I strike a nerve? Were you attacked by a spinach pie in your youth? I didn't comment, however. Food was fine, plus it's a been a little while, so I can't leave a one star review, but I was left with a bad taste...

This place is up at URI so I have to go out of my way to go there but worth the trip. I got the Garlic Rose with extra tomato sauce. With the thicker dough, more tomato sauce, Roma tomatoes and garlic slices, this was a transcendental pizza pie. Thick and delicious. Reminded me of the old Caserta pizzas of the 1980’s but better.
