Steamers Bar & Grill — Restaurant in South Lake Tahoe

First time in this location... I'm excited to check it out. I'm from the North shore and there used to be a Steamer's over there (not affiliated). My friend and I went in there this evening. There were open tables in the back, three to be exact. We sat at the one in the middle. We grabbed our own menus and waited. I'm in no hurry for someone as long as it's practical. Another party takes the table next to us. About two minutes later a server comes over and goes to the other table first. So I'm thinking in my head, she'll turn around to us next. Nope. She didn't even say hello or I'll be right back. Totally ignored us. She knew the people next to us as well. Even better. We decided to leave. I've been a server for twenty years. By the way she ignored us I knew were in for a real treat. As we left, she was bartending, never looked up. She's the blonde with short hair and overalls.

Thanks for making my first experience at Steamer's South Lake inviting. I'll be sure to NOT recommend your location to all the visitors flying into the airport here in town. They are all asking where to go. Where the locals go, and it's not...

The "nachos" are NOT $12 nachos, $5 at best, they are really taking full advantage of the fact that the ppl typically ordering these are probably drunk... The jalapeno poppers that we ordered for extra dark and far more crispy than they should have been so my guess is that either the grease hasn't been changed in a number of months or someone else order them earlier, they said around under a heat lamp, and then they threw them back into the grease to warm them up when we ordered them either way unacceptable... The turkey sandwich, name evades me, but had Ortega chiles looked like it would be pretty good but when I asked the server for his suggestion he pointed me at the nachos so I was a little annoyed with his lack of intelligent tastes conscious suggestions... I felt a little bad about only leaving a 10% tip because besides his poor food suggestion it really wasn't his fault... But that place clearly has no...

This a nice little place. I ejoyed a nice Margarita and Cajun-style wings. Service was very friendly and prompt. Atmosphere was relaxed and easy. I'll be back.

So, I came back on 10/17. Not too crowded. Every table was taken, but only 8 tables with 2 to 4 ppl each. I waited to place the order. Waitress wouldn't come over. After 15 min I go over to her station to remind her that I was waiting. She said she needed a minute then she would be over. She served another table then she bussed two more. So I left. Walked by the bartender on the way out. I said, "Nice try, maybe next time." There was another patron also waiting. We exchanged a few words about the slow service. He left just after I did.
