The Turn - Bar and Lounge — Restaurant in South Lake Tahoe

It has taken me a few weeks to write this on account of how upset my whole experience made me feel and I really don’t like thinking about it but I feel like I should warn others so this doesn’t happen to someone else. My best friend and I decided to spend the night in Tahoe as a super special occasion for my 30th birthday. I wanted to visit a bar and this one sounded perfect. Friendly locals? Dogs? Perfect! The dogs were actually the only good part of the whole nightmare experience. My friend and I were in such a great mood when we came in and by the time we got back to the hotel we were both in tears. We were both super friendly and welcoming to everyone who talked to us on account of our good mood and basically the entire bar ESPECIALLY the snarky bartenders treated us like we were lesser than trash. They talked down to us, laughed at us, messed with us, and bullied us so ruthlessly that it has honestly made me never want to step foot in another bar for as long as I live. Apparently the people at the bar sensed easy prey and decided to destroy our night and ruin my birthday. Also beware of the “pool shark” dudes who look down on you and treat you like dirt for not being as good at pool as them. Shame on us for trying to be social and friendly at such a hellish torture pit of a place. Visitors NOT welcome. Do not risk your good time by coming here. It is middle school bullying...

Great place overall!

Cozy little spot, friendly owner and friendly staff. BYOF (Bring your own food. External beverages are not encouraged though.) Uniquely shaped counter to maximize serving occupancy. The place has a patio complete with tables & umbrellas. It is surrounded by several dining establishments. It also has a lounge in the back right corner.
