Just finished filing an online ADA complaint with the California Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division. We walked into the shop with my service dog and was immediately greeted by a condescending employee with blue hair telling me no dogs were allowed. I pointed out my medic bracelet - which coincides with my dogs medic tags - and politely explained to the lady that she services me. The lady stoped helping another customer just to angrily stare me down and then rudely said, “ if that’s what you want to say with your bracelet, there’s nothing I can say about it.” That attitude and mistreatment is 100% discrimination, AND ILLEGAL! If she’s the owner, she needs to brush up on ADA LAW! My dog is under no obligation to wear a service vest and my medic tags are legal and protected by ADA law! Shame on this horrible lady. She definitely needs an attitude check, if not to completely loose her business. Discrimination of any kind is unacceptable and ignorance of law is no excuse! I’m so tired of being harassed by ignorant service dog vigilantes! Time to start reporting...
