I had a terrible experience with them. The prices for the arepas are already expensive for a food truck. I ordered an arepa and ask if they can remove the cheese because of my allergy. The lady suggested she can replace it avocado and Pico de gallo. I said ok, thinking that was very sweet of them. As I sat waiting for my meal, she came back and mentioned that my meal would go great with Maduro. I said "that sounds delicious, sure". Again she came back and mentioned they have a typical argentinian tea if I wanted to try it so she brought me a cup. Has my food came, everything looked and tasted good. My buddy saw my meal and asked for the same and added an extra arepa. As my bill came, the lady said my bill was $37!. I asked how did my $15 arepa turn into $37?? She didn't "replace" anything, she charged me for every side she suggested. It was my fault for not asking and thinking she was being nice but it would've been nice if she mentioned that prior to "suggesting" everything. My buddy's bill came out to $50 for two arepas and a lemon tea..... the most expensive arepa I have ever paid for. Especially to leave there still hungry. I was so furious. Right next door is a steak food truck and they have a platter of steaks for $30, I would've preferred that than to get hustled by an arepa food truck....
Read moreVisiting from Texas 🤠 First time trying Venezuelan food. & Passion fruit juice & OMG 🤩 the juice is sooo good!! We had a big platter, it was like a party platter with meat, arepas, pork chicharron, and some plantain (which i don't care for) BUT they put some type of cheese on top of the plantain giving it a sweet & savory taste I ENJOYED IT! The cheese filled arepa was also my favorite, slightly sweet masa. Great 1st timer if you are looking to try new food. Also, one of the Rubias who was everyone's waitresses was great & on top of everything 👏🏽 very welcoming & sweet. Thank you.
As for the atmosphere, I didn't rate as high because they are kind of hidden.. not much going on...
Read moreTheir arepas are amazing, and the staff is super welcoming. They've also got an assortment of Venezuelan drinks and appetizers that never fail to hit the spot. They've got a quaint roofed setup (not only serviceable, but quite nice compared to the usual food-truck experience) and are also on Uber Eats -- a convenience I make use of regularly, when I don't have the time or energy to make it to the location. My go-to items are "La Picanhera," a delectable meat-based arepa with queso-de-mano and a savory Latin-American variant of garlic sauce (among other things), and the fried mini-arepas, which are filled with melted cheese and come with a tasty sauce dip. They've also recently incorporated Chicha into their selection of drinks, and it's become my favorite "dessert" drink.
