So excited to have this new addition in South Orange! NYC Style Deli truly lives up to its name — it brings the real NYC deli vibe right into the neighborhood. They’ve got a solid selection of essentials like eggs, milk, yogurt, snacks, and grab-and-go groceries, which is a lifesaver especially since Ashley Marketplace closed. I finally have a place to grab last-minute items again! The menu is full of NYC-style favorites, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable. One of the best parts? They’re open from 6 AM to 2 AM — seriously amazing for late-night or early-morning runs. Only downside right now is that checkout and food prep can be a bit slow, but it’s totally understandable with a brand-new opening. I’m confident they’ll smooth things out with a bit more time. Highly recommend checking them out and showing support — this place has great potential to become a local favorite!

As a real estate expert and local guide, I’m always on the move and finding great spots to grab a quick, delicious bite is key. This place has quickly become my go-to for both breakfast and lunch! I don’t eat pork, and I really appreciate the variety of options they offer for people like me. My top picks? The “fake Cuban” sandwich and their take on a chopped cheese; the flavor is on point, and the cheese always melts perfectly. Their salads and desserts are fresh and satisfying, and they have a huge selection of chips and snacks too. Whether you’re in a rush or just want something consistently good, this spot never disappoints.

Ok it was late at night I was out walking, they have a dessert bar. When I tell you the particular red velvet cake slice I got (apparently they have a few) is amazing and moist I have gone to many bakeries all over NJ and chains like Paris Baguette etc…, and this is hands down THE BEST red velvet cake I’ve had. EVER!!! I haven’t tried the cheesecake yet but their desserts are going to be a problem 😭 here’s to hoping my drive to maintain a healthy weight is stronger than them desserts.

Atmosphere was cute, AMAZING choice in over the counter snack! Service and food quality was poor!!! Not only did I pay nine dollars for a cheesecake that was really not tasty. The toppings were flavorless, even though it was a cherry topping, The cheesecake itself was just really bad and the crust was almost slimy for nine dollars I expected more. Also, the presentation of the cheesecake was quite beautiful so I expected it to taste delicious and I would give it a two out of 10. The service was absolutely horrible. This was my first time here and the person who was supposed to take orders was behind the cash register on their phone. I don’t mind people on their phone on their shift if they can multitask. I was literally screaming. Excuse me excuse me, and all their coworkers heard them and had to tap them in order to get their conversation, they were completely in their phone to the point they could not service me. I don’t know if it’s because I was a woman but all the men that came they seem to give their attention no problem. That was my first and last time there. I think because of their beautiful presentation and their atmosphere they get a bunch of people who are interested . also, with their high prices, you would assume their food is delicious and they probably invest in the best products to serve and that’s why it’s so expensive but you are better off going elsewhere. There are plenty of delis locally that may not be as beautiful, but definitely have better food and way better service. I am so disappointed to have Ignored by the cashier, not only once but twice did people have to tap this cashier and get his attention for me. I don’t understand how people feet away can hear me try to get this cashiers attention who was less than 2 feet in front of me. I felt completely ignored and even a little profiled that was my first...

The place was very clean upon entrance. I thought sure I had found a hidden jewel, but the customer service RUINED it. My order was simple. An egg and cheese sandwich with a smoothie. I asked the cashier to have the cook scramble the egg in the bowl then fry HARD on the grill. Easy enough. I watched the cook crack the egg onto the grill. I asked the cashier if she had shared my request with the cook, she smirked flippantly and said Yes thats how we ALWAYS cook our eggs. Uhhhh No!! I had to ask her two more times to go and check. Finally the cook redid the eggs. This time she scrambled them on the griddle and did not fry hard as asked. When i looked at the finished sandwich and informed the cashier that my order was not right she was adamant that the cook had followed directions until i opened the sandwich for her view. At this point im just done. The smoothie was not blended welll and the sandwich was garbage. All you have to do...
