Awful. I am so sorry that I can't recommend Biryani Grill to our community. I was happy to see a new Indian option in the South Riding/Stone Springs area, where food options are already so limited. I was proud to support the business of fellow South Indians. I had recommended this restaurant to multiple friends, and likewise, they had, too. Yet, I continued to give my money to the restaurant and received increasingly unacceptable service on my end. It seems to be the same for other reviewers across the Internet. I will start with the (few) pros: the food I tried (veg biryani and a few veg curries, samosas) are authentically, truly, tasty. No matter how one may try, making biryani at home never tastes as savory and exquisite as at a restaurant. BG does this job well. Their samosas are not oily and are wonderfully spiced. That's it. It just goes downhill from there. Regarding customer service and recent hygiene of food prep, it is non existent. If you use their online ordering platform, even if you arrive 15 to 20 minutes after the designated pickup time, be prepared to be told your food is not ready! You will have another 20 minute wait ahead! I have ordered food at all different times of the day; it makes no difference when. There are multiple staff walking around, each one telling you a different thing when you ask for an update. I once ordered a small catering order to be picked up right at store open, as had been previously decided. Typical food items, such as accompaniments, that should have been prepped for the day ahead, were not even made yet and I ended up waiting another almost half hour! Multiple times, I have received vegetarian meals filled with stray pieces of meat. When I called, they said, "Yeah, sometimes this happens," and offered no solution. But what has utterly sworn me off is the amount of times I have found hairs in and around my food. Now I see on online reviews the replies from management where they are asking reviewers to amend their posts! If there is a desire to improve and be a much needed part of our community, then this is not right. I sincerely hope for the success of BG, but I cannot be a customer further until big...
Read moreI am very disappointed with Biryani Grill at Village Center Plaza, Stone Ridge, VA because I could not order anything over the phone as there is a serious problem with their Landline Telephone Network. As soon as I dial their number 703-570-4766, it gives a recording, “The party you are trying to reach is busy and cannot take your call. Please leave a message”. This problem has been happening for more than 6 months and when I went in person to the Restaurant and notified at the front desk host months ago, she said yes there are so many calls coming through etc…. but that was not true. As another Biryani Grill was opened in Ashburn Virginia, I called their number 703-480-0788, which surprisingly went through and I explained the whole scenario about the phone problem at the Biryani Grill at Stone Ridge. The lady asked me to hold the line and another person came on the line, identifying himself as Anil Kumar who is the Manager of both Biryani Grill locations. When I explained the whole problem to Mr. Anil Kumar, he agreed and said nonchalantly that customers who are subscribers of AT & T mobile carrier, the call doesn’t get through and inquired what mobile carrier I have and when I said TMobile, he said that it may include TMobile subscribers also that they would not be able to make a telephone call to order items. Soon after hearing this, I contacted TMobile Customer Service and to my surprise, the Tech at TMobile said, “ Stone Ridge Biryani Grill Restaurant has a Landline Carrier Network which does not accept calls from TMobile subscribers, unless they switch their Landline Network to another Network”. Perhaps Mr. Anil Kumar is completely satisfied with the Landline Network of Stone Ridge Biryani Grill which does not accept any calls from subscribers of AT & T and TMobile customers. I am very disappointed with Stone Ridge Biryani Grill Restaurant as the Manager doesn't feel it was necessary to switch their Landline Network so that customers can order items over the phone and...
Read moreMy past experience around noon on Friday may 26th was unpleasant. I have recommended this place to my friends and family because I support local south Indian businesses and it's relatively new and even rated 5 star on a separate platform.
I ordered online a mutton pulao(they serve on weekends, apparently) and Apollo fish as I was in a rush and driving out of state after picking it up. I got a confirmation at that time saying the food will be ready in 30 minutes or so. I went after 45 minutes to pick up the food thinking it would be plenty of time. When I arrived, the young guy with glasses greeted and said that food is not ready as they are out of pulao and if I wanted a biryani instead. I received Zero communication for this ahead of time and I wasted a trip. I take a lot of pride in communication and you would think that a young business would as well. I do not want biryani, I wanted what I ordered, otherwise, some communication ahead of time! It was not busy when I went. The reason for the low rating is that the young gentleman not only said he called me to let me know they are out, but he spoke with me or "someone else" who picked up the phone. First of all, I don't believe him as the number listed was my cell phone which only I have and I had zero conversations on the phone about it or had any voicemail or missed calls. Had he just acknowledged that he forgot to call me to let me know, I would not be posting here, just wanted some accountability which I didn't get and leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The only reason this is not 1 star is because the food is good. But the people or family you hire is supposed to be the face of the restaurant. The ratings are not solely based on food, they are based on customer experiences as well. The young gentleman that day at cashier also said I will get a full refund in 2 business days and I have not...
