Great at social distancing in the dumpster fire of 2020 and food as always is amazing. Hats off to the cook staff for always on point food and wait staff is super professional and welcoming. This is my go-to spot for burgers wings and beer. Either for a quick escape from the house solo, a quick catch-up with friends or even fam pre 2020. It caters to everyone. Only triple threat eatery for miles! A new wing place open up right next door and certainly will check out but know they will never replace my GD!
EDIT For those complaints stating service or random order inaccuracies I can only say this and it is long.
Like all service industries GD is trying to support employees in a reduced market cap. This means paying their employees their standard wages while the staff is managing short handed. Yes some mistakes will happen but are few and to be expected. I'm sure given any context this establishment would immediately rectify any issues. I saw a "Karen" not but back in July lose their cool over a missing pickle w/ their burger once. The staff responded perfectly by comp'ing the meal and bringing out what looked like an entire jar for the patron to enjoy. It is 2020 and we are all trying to manage. Have some respect for the 20yr somethings trying to work and the food industry legacies that make this restaurant the amazing place that it is. 90% of the bad reviews are over easily fixed, cry baby remarks you find in all service industry reviews. I wish I could say this louder. "Act like a Karen, get treated like one!" I would be proud to manage the group of core employees that make up this GD. Put on some big boy pants, relax and enjoy the amazingness that is GD! If there is an issue say something, give them a chance to fix it and take a sip of your drink and be a respectful adult like your mamma taught you. Sometimes the lime in my drink isn't fruity enough but I don't send it back or make fuss, cuz you know it is just a lime. If you want perfection I don't know a 20 something in this world who has lived enough or gets paid enough to baby sit an adult who is hangry. There are plenty of places where your burger cost 50$ served on a white cloth table by a middle aged man putting his kids through college to deal with yuppy requirements. Guess what, my pick up orders are not perfect evertime either. I comm the order with a person my child's age and is prepared by someone not paid nearly enough. I'm thankful I am able to get food walked to my car at any reasonable hour within 45mins. I grew up with a knob channel dial tv, this is as close to hoverboard as it gets. This "perfection or nothing" attitude is for the birds. Ironically my guess is those with "condiment issues" do not know how to use anything but a microwave.
As reference I worked almost a decade in the food service industry in a past life prior to winning the employment "lottery", starting as a server then to line cook, and eventually kitchen AK to finish as regional store mgt in Italian cuisine and medical food services. I know first hand from observing, while being a patron, that the staff and management at this GD are first class and are well above industry standards. While staff turn over is always high in the food service industry it is telling that this location maintains a low reference by several points. It means employees are happy and mgt are able to compensate to retain talented staff. It is a sign of a well run respected establishment. š just look at how active the responses are too both positive and negative reviews by both Corp and direct location mgt. It shows dedication to customer...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCame in on a weeknight, diner for two. :20 minute wait despite most of the restaurants tables unoccupied, concluded they lacked staff. Sat at a booth at the bar instead of waiting. Drink order was simple, water no ice for me and my teen. Ordered steaks, one with baked potato, one with garlic mashed potatoes. Out of broccoli, so no veggie, even though there is a grocery store in the same parking lot. Had a Caesar salad instead, which turned out to be the best dish of the diner. When the steaks came, they were cooked to proper temperature, but lacked seasoning and tasted plain. The baked potato was cold. No staff checked to see how our diners were, never offered any more water. We flagged someone down to get a hot potato but that took so long I had eaten my steak and salad already. The garlic mashed potatoes tasted like a lot of garlic powder was used which has a certain taste, and not fresh garlic, not appetizing at all. During diner, no one checked on us. Off duty bar staff and other staff drinking at the bar and going into the kitchen empty handed and returning to their seats with food, while we were waiting for a simple potato that was hot. Menu items cut way down, no water refills, no staff checking on us after the food dropped, out of veggies, cold baked potato, poor service, and charged the full bill, not even an offer for a desert. The food quality, menu selection, and service have devolved greatly over the years. As for the off duty staff at the bar, from my experience there is only one reason off-duty staff drinks alcohol and eats at their own bar.... which is why so many restaurants and bars prohibit staff from being patrons. Hopefully new management will turn the place around eventually as we miss the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWow, the service here sucked so bad. We went in for late lunch on Monday/new years eve. It started out waiting 15 minutes for a server to approach the table and then we got two of them at once. Neither of them knew who was serving us at first and they seemed to have a minor disagreement over it. Once one was decided he took our drink order and then took a good 10 minutes to get back with them.
Next came the food order. We didn't order anything fancy, no apps no subs just a salad and a meat loaf. 45 minutes later the server came back to say there was a problem with the order and "it didn't go through", and he didn't know what we ordered even. We had to order all over again. Now you'd think he'd get that rushed this time, but no, it was at least another 30 minutes before we saw our food. The meatloaf was dry, clearly it was made earlier and left to sit and reheated.
When the food came we asked for drink refills. They did not arrive until we were done eating. I was also charged an extra $0.99 to refile lemonade. Not a fancy one, not flavored, basic lemonade.
In all we were in the restaurant over 2 hours just to eat 1 plate each. There was no attempt to rectify the error or compensate us for the time or lousy service. No manager to even try and fix the problem. No one cared. The restaurant wasn't even busy, it was early afternoon.
I would not recommend eating here under the current management.
