The food here was absolutely off the hook. It's one of those rare finds that I covet.

The atmosphere looks, I'll not lie, not the greatest, but solid enough. The services are no frills for a reason. They're pretty high volume, and there were only two people working at the time. While I was there, there were a decent number of people inside.

I don't care about all that other stuff as long as your food wows me, and let me just tell you, it wowed me.

I got their salt and pepper wings, fried rice, and clay pot curry.

The fried rice was what I expected, good warm, comforting, but this was not the star of the show.

The next best thing was the claypot beef curry. Absolutely delicious. The spices were really well balanced and integrated. The only point I'll ding them for here is I felt like the dish was heavy on a lot of beef fat chunks. I'm ok with some here or there, but there felt like there was a lot. To be fair, there was a good amount of beef meat, too. So those, in my mind, cancel each other out. I can't stress enough how awesome the flavor was, well worth getting. I'm pretty interested in trying some of their other clay pot stuff now, certainly other curry stuff they have.

By far, the star of the show was the salt and pepper wings. Perfectly breaded and fried, crunchy, meaty, salty, peppery. My entire palate was lit up by the utter deliciousness of this dish. This dish alone would be enough to convince me to go back.

I would go out of my way to come here again, and...

Headed for a lunch trip to Costco... wife got hungry and wanted lunch.

Note do not sit at the 4 top near the counter. People waiting to pay for take out will use unused chairs for their bags. The staff realized that people ordering takeout were crowding us so they moved us to a better table. Thank you!! But then they sat another party of 2 there once we vacated.

I ordered the minced beef over rice with egg. Plenty of food, really large portion of rice (at least 3 servings). Raw egg. Brown savory sauce. Tender sliced beef... not really minced, though. Just a really tiny bit of sliced greens, I think it was gai lon. You will need to mix the egg into the rice to partially cook it before diving in. Usually the egg is on top of but this was served with the egg in between the sauce and rice.

My wife ordered the beef stew wonton. The beef stew is tender. The wonton is mediocre....tasted frozen. The broth is really good. The broth is full flavor. I suggest dipping the wontons into the chili oil to mask some of the "flavor".

Both of our dishes were not on the main menu, but were on the special menu they gave you. Note: there was a sign that said there is a $2.00 increase in price for dine in.

The men's room is overall cleaner than most Chinese restaurants. It's spacious but is used as a storage room. Someone forgot to flush though.

All of the staff I can see are...

Lots of people like this place. How's the food? I don't know...I never got any! Went in at 11am and ordered 2 items to go. Told 15 minutes. 3 men got up and left with no food - man at counter told them to order take-out and they wanted sit down. 3 other tables were eating in - they had food. 3 men were angry and left when they wouldn't be served. I went to the market next door and was back 2 min past my 15 wait time. 1 item was sitting on the counter, open - another woman told me it had come right up and had been sitting there "quite awhile." I asked if my whole order was ready = no. I waited a total of 33 minutes and the other half never came up and the first 1/2 was cold. He wouldn't give me my money back; counter man insisted I take the cold first potstickers and he would give me money for the dumplings. He thought I should wait longer because two different cooks were needed = 1 for pot stickers and another for dumplings. Really? No other tables came in. 1 other take-out came in. Not busy! Meanwhile pot stickers are sitting out and cold. I said I had waited long enough and needed to go as others were waiting in the car for me. He just pushed the cold food towards me, and a few bucks. I left both. I left the restaurant. We eat at two other places in the stripe mall, but we'll never go back to nor eat at HKR Andy's...

I've only done takeout from this place so I cannot comment on the service. Located in the strip mall in South City, this restaurant it's a nice option for me as I'm always looking for Chinese restaurants in the area. They have an extensive menu and I'm sure you can find something that you would enjoy here. We got our usual staples of Singapore noodles, tomato beef chow mein, and salt and pepper pork chops. I usually get tomato beef at Chinese restaurants because a lot of them make it differently. The flavor here was pretty decent, but the noodles were really thick and kind of gluey. The Singapore noodles weren't too bad but there wasn't a strong curry flavor. My favorite of the three dishes was probably the salt and pepper pork chop. Nicely fried and juicy. Definitely probably could have been a little bit crispier but since we did take out, it might have been better eating those in house. Prices are not too bad, the total for the three dishes worked out to be $36 which is what I'm used to paying for normally. Parking is very easy as there is a large lot.
