The BEST Jamaican food in the Bay Area. Hands down. -UPDATE- its very unfortunate that I have to leave this review because I really didn't want to. The food was good up until the woman taking and making my order has been messing with my food. First she kept giving me no sides every single time I picked up food only to get home to see my order was incorrect. I feel like one day she just got tired of seeing my face, she didn't like me buying food and gave me food that was clearly old. The chicken had already changed colors from aging and my rice was rock hard like it had been reheated but OVERHEATED. I honestly feel like she went thru the trash and have me whatever she could piece together in there. She has given me food that has looked half eaten and everything. Not only is she rude but has no problem showing it. Ive never had anyone give me old food from a restaurant in my life. Ive never had someone at a restaurant give me dirty looks every single time I come for no reason! Now I have to find another Jamaican spot to eat at because she will probably try to poison me next time around. The picture is how my food looked when I opened the lid. I can't take it anymore. NEVER going there again!!!

Okay so it’s Jan 20th, I’ve read some mixed reviews and was unsure if it was worth the drive. It is, it’s good and will satisfy the crave. The oxtails are delicious very tender good flavor and omg the jerk chicken is so flavorful and tender I was impressed first bite. The festivals are some of the best I’ve ever had, highlight of the meal. The jerk wings are good, crispy on the outside good tender flavorful meat. You can tell they fresh off a actual grill. I would of loved a bigger portion of the veggies they are good and flavorful. Mac & cheese is alright and unfortunately I’m not a fan of the rice and beans at all. They were mushy and over cooked. Overall 5 stars ⭐️ clean restaurant, courteous staff feels family owned and operated. I watched the game while I ate and enjoyed my experience. I will be back. Also to add I’m not from California or the Bay Area to be specific where it’s hard in my opinion to find good food and as a big fan of authentic Jamaican cuisine they are official. Highly recommended

We we're on vacation from the East coast and have several options at home for Jamaican fare. Flavas was by far the most amazing authentic Jamaican food we've ever had and the best restaurant experience we had while on the west coast. It is a small and quaint seating area but they had no problem accommodating my family of 7 and did so in a welcoming manner. The ox tail is tender and juicy, the jerk chicken and pork was very flavorful and robust, the barbeque chicken was amazing for those not wishing to experience the hot side. The homemade Mac n cheese is phenomenal, the cabbage salad was eaten by every member of our family as if it were candy. Your missing out if you don't experience this restaurant, and don't forget to try the house drink made from fresh fruit of the island. Enjoy!

This is a quaint little nook - and I do mean quaint. And that's only PART of why I loved it! My wife and I and a bunch of friends were on vacation together in San Francisco and we decided to try Flavas. I had the braised ox tail with jerk chicken, red beans and rice and steamed cabbage with carrots and fried plantains. The chicken was FANTASTIC and the ox tail practically FELL OFF THE BONE just with a little tongue pressure! I've never had plantains before and didn't know how to prepare them, but now I do! Needless to say, I'm cooking that at home. This was actually our first time collectively having Jamaican cuisine, and I wish I didn't have to drive 6+ hours just to enjoy it! I DEMAND TO HAVE A FLAVAS IN VENTURA COUNTY!

Walked in planning to order to go but sit and eat a portion there. Wrong move. I, like the 4 people who walked in and ordered to go, was seemingly put in the back of the ghost queue. We all waited at least 30 minutes before receiving our food. Meanwhile, 10 minutes into my wait, a guy walks in, orders for here, gets his food, finishes it, and leaves before 3 of the 5 people ahead of him get their food. Chicken was moist. The jerk seasoning could use more flavor, though, it wasn't terrible. But when you run out of vegetables and offer me more plantains instead, can you at least make it look like you have me more plantains? I'd hate to see what a regular portion that comes with an entree looks like...
