True Love Kitchen — Restaurant in South San Gabriel

New takeout place in the SGV.. There are a handful of tables but not much on ambience but who cares...the food is beyond delicious. And the service is friendly. My second visit here...first time, i got the filet mignon and chicken kabobs 5/5)....this time I ordered the chicken thighs kabob and the chicken lule (5/5)..both proteins were grilled perfectly. Tender...flavorful. The combo came with basmati rice, homemade hummus (very creamy)...a snall Greek salad with a lot of black olives and feta ...and a thick fluffy pita. There's also a grilled jalapeño and roma tomato...both were nicely grilled not scorched black, but grilled and tadted great with the rice. The garlic spread cost extra, but Emil gave it to me for free to try it: i plan on trying their bbq babyback ribs, the bbq pork chop, and the lamb chops. The grill on the proteins are masterful. If you want to watch the grillmaster owner Edgar at work, go on weekends when the friendly atmosphere is like a tailgate party...with the bbq out in the parking lot.

Don't have to go to the San Fernando Valley to get grrreat Mediterranen in the SGV. Plenty of parking. I got a 15 percent off coupon for the next time. I plan...

There aren't a lot of Middle Eastern restaurants around here so this is a rare sight. True Love Kitchen is a hidden gem. The food is excellent. We got the beef filet mignon and beef kebab combo and trh chicken thighs and chicken kebab combo. The meat was tender and flavorful. The side salad had just the right amount of saltiness from the feta and the olives. But the standout has to be the hummus. IT'S SO FREAKING SMOOTH AND DELICIOUS. It's the some of the best hummus I've ever had. The rice, which we usually think "it's just rice," but it was soft and tasty and worth a mention too. We also got a tabouleh salad and the flavors were perfectly balanced, not too herby like I've had at some other palces.
