Ordered a white pizza, cheesesteak( cheese and meat only) , and a turkey hoagie. Taste of everything was mediocre, the cheesesteak had little to zero cheese( u can see the pic). Definitely a once and done place. Too expensive for something that just wasn't worth it. Had to reheat the pizza which was no biggy and a blah hoagie. UPDATE: I actually forgot I ordered from and tried again now it's even worse. We got the wrong pizza, a California chicken sandwich that didn't have mayo, lettuce or tomato, and a cheese steak again that is super blah and tasted of nothing. Don't go here ever!!! We didn't order ciclian and got one. Whoever your chef is fire them immediately. This place is horrible and I hope they go out of business!!! Waste of money!!!! You are better off eating a bread and butter sandwich. Do better you should be embarrassed by what you put out!

I recently ate here twice. It's certainly not bad food but I didn't think it was anything special either. The staff is nice and the atmosphere is cool. The pizza and garlic knots were good. I would recommend ordering the pizza. For my second visit I ordered the special Stromboli with a mix of peppers, mushrooms, sausage and pepperoni in it. It wasn't bad but it wasn't really good either. To me the dough was super bland and kinda thin. The vegetables didn't really have flavor either. The sauce is good though! Parts of the dough were still raw too. I'm not mad about that but it did really detract from an already bland Stromboli. I'd eat here again for the pizza and staff. If you're in the area and want pizza then this is a good option.

The pizza here is unlike any you have tasted yet... it could be a global phenomenon with how incredibe it is! The staff is friendly, they have a HUGE selection of beer and spirits available! The menu includes a multitude of mouthwatering dishes! The atmosphere will also bedazzle you due to the fact that there are lovely Italian paintings adorning the walls and beautiful hand-painted dishes on display (almost as if Picasso himself painted them). STOP IN FOR YOURSELF GET TAKE-OUT, OR DINE-IN & ENJOY WHAT IS REALLY A MAGNIFICENT ALLENTOWN STAPLE!

Side note: I have worked in pizza restaurants for 15 years. You'll understand why I bring this up when you read more into my review.

I thought I would try this place because it was close to my job and it would be convenient to place an order over the phone at work and pick it up when my shift ended.

When I called in and placed an order for a medium pepperoni pizza I also inquired as to whether they use fresh mushrooms or canned. The man on the phone replied: "They are fresh, we cut them every day." After hearing that I added them to my pizza.

After picking up my order and seeing the pie at home I discovered that the mushrooms were in fact canned (and gross) and that the pepperonis were under-cooked (meaning they cooked the pizza and then added the pepperonis to the pie after the fact to save money (cooked pepperonis shrink and thus more need to be added; under-cooked pepperonis do not shrink as much and less can be used).

This of course leads to my conclusion: Sal's Pizza lies to their customers and cheaply adds to toppings to their pies. Go elsewhere.

TL;DR: They lie, use canned mushrooms, and cheaply add toppings to the pie after it is cooked. Not to mention almost $20 for a medium pizza is ridiculous. Save your money and...

I’m so sick of inconsistency in their food . I’m there alot every week but I’m done after today the pizza was greasy , and crispy was also overcharged for my order . I know what it should cost cause I order the same almost every time I go there multiple times a week just yesterday I had a order and they gave me a extra slice of pizza I wasn’t charged for so I called them immediately and offered to come bring it back or pay for it and they said don’t worry about it even though I didn’t want it or eat it and then today I get over charged ??? What is that about to make up for yesterday come on seriously I don’t wanna deal with this business anymore yeah they in the past gave me a gift card for their mistakes but this is getting ridiculous anymore keep your gift cards I’ll take my business elsewhere anymore . Too many mistakes and the food is too inconsistent anymore overcooked and greasy pizza and just don’t wanna deal with this anymore not worth wasting my gas to return food all the time or get a few dollars back I was overcharged not worth my time or headaches no more . Good luck to anyone else...

I rarely write reviews. Been going there for over 30 years. I've always been friendly and appreciative. Sadly disappointed as of late, I think Sal would have been too. The manager totally dismissed my concern about the incorrect pricing (false advertising) on online menu versus counter pricing. More importantly, the falsely priced advertised stromboli was so unappealing to look at, we dared not to even eat the overpriced product. Took it back immediately and asked for a refund, although I would have just left without the refund. The young man behind the counter was courteous. This was not the first time ordering a stromboli there. On another occasion of price misquoting of a pizza, the manager who I've known for years and by name, was indignant and condescending. My mistake to give this business a second chance. Wanted to continue to patronize a long-standing business. Should have opted for the restaurant in Trexlertown which I've frequented before. Also, I worked at a pizza restaurant in my youth, so I know what to expect and my expectations are not...
