Thoroughly bitten by the restaurant challenge bug, I took a quick drive over to Southbury to tackle the Kitchen Sink Platter offered at Leo’s Restaurant. A menu staple of Leo’s menu since their 1987 opening, The Kitchen Sink includes three soft pancakes, three slices of Challah French Toast, an ENTIRE Belgian waffle, a side of crispy bacon, several succulent sausages, scrambled eggs, home fries, fresh fruit, an a hot cup of coffee (even in my beloved decaf). Completion of this creation earn you a free T-shirt. Even though only 30% of people who order this king sized dish actually finish, I knew this would prove no match for my bottomless stomach. Indeed, I polished off the whole shebang in a speedy 11:40, easily surpassing the owners wildest imagination. Leo’s scrumptious challenge may not have busted open my gut, but their warm friendliness and amiable staff had my heart bursting with gratitude. Thank you so much for continuing to offer such fun and inviting breakfast challenge after almost 40 years and for treating me like family during my meal. With the spirit of a lion running strong in the restaurant, I felt like a part of Leo’s pack 🦁.

Went to this place, first time, for a friend's birthday lunch. Excellent service, great atmosphere, but just good food. I had raspberry fields sandwich. My expectations were high, had heard about the raspberry bread. Must say, the sandwich was good, but I was expecting more. I have a bread fettish. There are a few places I drive an hour or more, just to buy bread from. I just thought the raspberry bread was OK, but nothing to write home about. I would return to try something else, simply because the people and location was really nice and made up for the mediocre food.

I came here with a group of about 16 people for lunch on a Saturday so we were seated upstairs. I got the grilled apple bread sandwich with tuna. I asked for a slice of American cheese with it, but it was left out. The sandwich was good, especially the bread. It would have been better with a pickle though, like it said on the menu. The wait for our food was quite long, but they were busy. I would return again, especially since my son and his family live nearby and like the food here too. Prices are reasonable and they do separate checks.

I stopped here because the place I wanted to go to was closed. Turns out, it was a good thing I did. This place had some very good food and very pleasant servers. There was a wait to be seated, but it was worth it. The food came out quick and hot, and I'll tell you, I had the best French fries I've had in a long while. The Ruben wasn't the best, but it was good enough. The meat was fresh, but the toppings were a little lacking. I will definitely be coming back to eat here the next time I pass therough.
