Panera Bread — Restaurant in Southbury

Let me just say that I am a huge fan of Panera. I love all their food, I’ve had almost everything on the menu. My favorite is the Mediterranean Veggie! The food is always hot and prepared beautifully. The staff at this particular Panera are very warm and welcoming.

But…..I’ve been getting a little disappointed with the cleanliness of this restaurant lately. The past few months I’ve been noticing the rug in the dining area (mostly because I own a carpet cleaning business:( it is beyond clean and beyond getting cleaned, definitely needs to be replaced. The dirt and grime in that is unbelievable. The fountain area today, smelled like something was rotten over there, as I was looking around I noticed the condiment display, holy s^*t! Take those things out and get them washed! Then I noticed the fountains themselves😖I passed on my drink even though I paid for it. Tables need to be wiped down more often and the rest room has never really been up to par. Please please please clean this spot up, I want to be able to continuously come to my favorite Panera!!

Update: May 2023, this location has replaced their carpeting to brand new nice and clean carpeting, it’s a pleasure to walk into your favorite Panera and not have to worry about grime. Fountain drink areas were clean as well. Thank you management for listening to your customers!...

Food is really good. But their app needs work. You can't add funds to a card within the app. You also can't pay in the store with the app. I've been told if you have an iphone you can do this, but I don't have an iphone. You also can't see specials. I got a notification about a discount today but nothing about this in the app. As far as the mobile ordering experience, it went fairly smoothly except for two points. I was waiting at the mobile pick up station. Finally asked an employee and she said "oh it's over here. We don't have enough staff for someone to walk it over.". Well then put up a sign that pick up is at the counter in the back. Also, I ordered a coffee and entered into the app how to make it. An empty cup was thrown in the bag. If you want me to make it myself, why ask me how to make it? As far as the southbury location, building has a nice layout. You can find a couple private areas. Also had a nice patio for...

Usually I love Panera but this location had horrible service. Ordered an ice coffee and they were out. Manager who took our order told me he was about to bring it out. Stood there waiting for about 10 min for a coffee that never came. Asked another employee, she said she would go check and then came back and ignored us for another 5. Manager who took our order knew we were waiting and also said nothing about the amount of time we left. Finally a third worker told us they were out of ice coffee and it was going to be a while. We left with a fruit punch....and was never offered a refund for the product they didn't have...went to drink the punch in the car and the soda machine must have been out of syrup. Glorified pink water is much different...
