I don't get to see my friends much as I work out of town. They live locally in Southgate, and we always visit this place as the Dagwood is my favorite there. We went there last night and got there around 10:30 pm. We asked if the kitchen was still open; our waitress came back and said only fried food, so we didn't order. 15 minutes later, someone came in to pick up a To-Go order. Out of curiosity, I asked the guy what he ordered on his way out, and he said burgers showing he didn't have to order fried food. We were upset but tried not to let the night get ruined.
Also, what sucked is the sound for the Monday Night NFL Rams/Chiefs game wasn't on. Silence in there. And it was an amazing game. Saw people walk out simply for that reason.
Finally, one of my buddies finished his beer but sat 15 minutes waiting on the server to come back to get another one. Instead, we watched as she needed to hit a customer's weed vape pen and cough it up (which I get -- it's legal -- but come on - you're at work in front of customers) / she was on her phone, instead of checking on us. The bartender behind the bar kept disappearing, so we couldn't ask her for drinks. Eventually, my buddy went up to the server and asked for another beer. Then after 10 minutes of him sitting there waiting on it, he still didn't have his beer. He went up again, canceled the beer, and just got the checks. Though the Dagwood is delicious, we will not be back ever again. Lame night. Cook closed the kitchen early. Server was awful. Bartender kept disappearing. Get a manager checking on your employees and customers. Terrible...
Read moreYou have absolutely no idea how much I loved this place. Went there with the old man after seeing a late night movie only showing nearby! Kismet! Lynsee took care of us and it seems like she was taking care of just about everyone in the joint! 3 Nicks reeks of fun to be had no matter the occasion! Food was so good, biggest meal I've had in ages! Delicious! Great bar for sports as I am going to low ball my estimate and say there are at least 17 big screen HDTVs all over the joint! The place was filled with nice people, struck up conversations with several fellow patrons and really hit it off with two dudes named Allen and Tom, great guys. Awesome, as sadly we seem to be in a day and age of people putting up walls. Well I like to break those walls down and these cats were of the same mindset, so my dad and I spent the remainder of the night chatting with these two stand up guys, which only enhanced the experience! Much appreciated 3 Nicks and Lynsee for providing a capper to a great evening on...
Read moreThis is a place you're likely to either love or hate. My cousin calls the Tap Room "a union bar" because most people who go there are work one skilled trade or another. I view it as a public "man-cave". The bikini waitstaff and screens everywhere showing whatever sport has a game that day keep the seats filled with testosterone, yet it's NOT a rough environment where you'd normally expect to see a fight.
The food is what I go for. They have a great club sandwich and plenty of dishes based around steak.
All in all the food is good, the atmosphere tends to be loud yet peaceful, and the staff is friendly. I recommend Tap Room for grabbing a bite and a beer at lunchtime with the guys and also a safe place to watch the game with a few friends at a place that you don't have to worry about a fight or your wife accusing you of trying to pickup other women. Like I said, it's essentially a...
