Southgate Grill — Restaurant in Southgate

Go here at your own risk. This place is awful. terrible service and just looks dirty. I trudged through rain and awful traffic to get there, and when I arrived it was dirty and not busy. Nobody greeted me, but I saw a dusty sign for pick ups with nothing there. Sometimes those are outdated, and as there was a bit of traffic it said my order should have been ready a minute ago...and they were not busy AT ALL so I looked around for help, and nobody said hello. Finally some woman in a hood and very casual clothing attempted to help. Now mind you, I wasn't being rude and demanding anything. was simply letting them know I was there, and asking the status. Some dirty, greasy chef starts yelling at me in and I can barely understand him. I "think" he was mad I didn't just go stand by thr tiny, dirty looking pickup section and wait as he was mumbling about how he wasn't ready yet and hadn't even started it, would take another 12 minutes, and I was a jerk or something. Wow, all because i let them know I arrived safely and was asking about what to do for the order. SO RUDE. I've never been attacked like that to simply pick up an order. If you doordash, stay away as they clearly dislike us...and I wouldn't eat here if you paid me based on the service and how just gross the overall appearance of the...

1st few times we went here were great! Food was fantastic! My wife especially thought the chicken was excellent......... Until it wasn't!

A 2 piece boasted chicken dinner was plated & presented to my wife who immediately got my attention but I had already noticed and couldn't believe that she was being served bloody, 1/2 cooked chicken! After telling the waitress, the food was returned to the cook who had to ask what was wrong. "Do they want it well done?" to which we replied, " No, just fully cooked!" It was re-cooked & re-served. Not the greatest chicken she ever had. Now, just the simple fact that you would serve UNCOOKED CHICKEN was enough for us to decide to NEVER RETURN TO THIS PLACE AGAIN! Also, they have stopped the illegal practice of charging a 3% surcharge on DEBIT cards and instead, just raised all the prices across the board. Even for those who pay cash!

Absolutely sickening.. we ordered takeout, I got an omelette and there was a long, dark black hair intertwined throughout my entire omelette. As if this wasn’t disgusting enough, we called in to tell what happened and they made me a new omelette(but only after accusing us of making this up and making us bring in the takeout food with said disgusting hair in it to show them for proof), brought the new omelette back home after picking it up. While eating the “new” remake omelette after the one that had hair in it, I began to realize was chomping on eggshells. By then I had already swallowed some of the eggshells. I instantly threw up and was absolutely shocked and disgusted.. Contacted the health department and they are inspecting. Super disappointing and unacceptable. “Linda”, “the owner” accused us of lying about this and very rude when I called to inform her about what had happened. Southgate grill is filthy...
