We wanted to try this Sushi place and went there. When we entered, the person seating people looked and just ignored and kept cleaning the some tables. There were two parties waiting to be seated including us (there was enough tables to seat all). My two girls ordered two sushi rolls and I ordered a ramen. The servers were not necessarily welcoming nor rude. After a reasonable amount of time my ramen came. Then after like 15 minutes when my girls sushi rolls were not there, I asked the server and he said it is being prepared. A few minutes later, I saw the server inquiring about the sushi rolls (I’m assuming at this point). More than likely it was forgotten. They made no attempt to apologize for the delay or to even admit they forgot the order and that was the reason for delay. Finally they brought one roll for my older daughter. Then it took like another 5 minutes or so for my younger daughter’s role to come in. Then few minutes later, the girl who seated us, came and told my older daughter the role she accidentally got her the Tiger role and if she likes it. No formal apology or any sense of empathy. Finally, when they brought the check, they had charged us for our original items we ordered. The role they gave mistakenly was slightly more expensive but that was not what we wanted, most restaurants would have not charged for a mistake they made. I didn’t want to make a big deal out of it as we did eat that sushi role. My older daughter didn’t want to make a deal out of it there either. My girls did not really think the sushi was good either although my ramen was alright and not great...
Read moreFood is just pretty average. The ideas on their menu sounded great so i did a mix of things. Their BBQ bao were good. The bun itselft is so thick that the filling seems so small in comparison and end up with more of the bun taste than the filling. Both tasted good on their own, but together it's not the best blend. Then the Takoyaki, this dish is buried under the Bonito Flakes. You would not have guessed from the picture that there was 6 of them on the plate. The flakes are so overpowering and if you try to remove them, a good portion of the sauce is absorbed by it. It didn't taste like there was a good portion of octopus in the balls as well so it was lackluster. The ticket to heaven was dissapointing too. The cream cheese is the biggest flavor you will get here. The spicy tuna adds nothing but cost to this take of a jalapeno popper. Finally, the black garlic oil ramen was probably the biggest dissapointment. The broth was bland, the black garlic oil did not mix well with the ramen broth in taste and texture. As i tried to mix them, all it was black specks as if it was black pepper sprinkled on. The chicken chashu was also a let down since they are cut like chicken breast, instead of a circular style chashu like other ramen places I have visited. Also, for $3 extra, it is not worth the extra meat. Also, the order only comes with half an egg while an extra order comes with the whole egg. Odd in that decision. Unfortunately i would not recommend this location. Maybe it's my experience, but it was not a good one, especially since I am from...
Read moreFirst time ever feeling so disappointed I had to leave a review. As a Japanese-American finding authentic Japanese food or at least getting as close as I can outside my kitchen is near impossible in this area. Mikoto has long since been the best option for this and I have never had a single problem in the past, and I would honestly rank it as pretty close to the real deal. But my most recent order was all it took to tell me the standards have dropped, I’m not sure if there’s now a white person in charge or what but they’ve clearly had some sort of recent change. The first and biggest warning sign that something was wrong was the lack of chopsticks. If chopsticks aren’t even included you know it was made for crackers. The next sin is it appears they’ve switched from using Japanese short grain rice to some sort of cheap, barely washed long grain rice that tastes to me like Mexican rice was used as a substitute. Next I find that the egg was hard boiled as opposed to a proper soft boil, and the fish cakes were simply just the cheapo frozen bag ones, which is forgivable but previous visits they’d had some more authentic and fresh tasting fish cakes. Either the economic hard times are hitting here very hard or someone with little to no experience in Japanese cuisine was...
