Southport Tap and Cellar — Restaurant in Southport

Great location, no question and something like this is so needed for Southport. No food, only liquid like most tap houses and breweries. Awesome selection of beers on tap! Be prepared as everything is served in plastic cups including wine…. was a bummer for those of us who visited SPT Tap & Cellar.

“Cellar” is misleading as they only have one vintner they offer and it’s not impressive. Cellar suggests they have many wines to select from. As for the beer - amazing selection, all local NC breweries but again, drinking out of a plastic cup totally cheapens the experience. You can certainly purchase a SPT “glass” to drink your liquid.. And btw, they don’t advertise it we just found out through others.

As for the decor - it has so much potential. Be prepared for some green in your face and seating is very, very limited. There is a pungent smell of tires/oil/gas as it used to be a gas station. Layout is interesting…. bi-level so be careful if you don’t walk on the ramp. We witnessed a couple of folks stumble. Put the “step down” posting where it's visible vs. taping it to the bar.

Knowledgeable about the offerings, they want you to expand your taste buds! Food truck idea is great, allows for different options all the time, and live music is always a great idea.

Interior is totally remodeled with a fun beachy vibe, with video games for the kids and tons of room to hang out for the adults. Tons of taps, and a solid take home variety as well. We will be...

Cool little place... They have tons and tons of craft beers... They have quite a few of on tap also... All is served in plastic cups, you can buy glass ones but you take those with you...They have lots of coolers full of canned Brews to go...Oh and if you're not a beer drinker, they have limited wine...Everything is made in NC!!! There is corn hole outside, some seating too. Great service and they are willing to let you try before you buy! It's a fun spot. Music this weekend 6-29-19! Try it I think you'll have...
