We’ve been loyal fans of Dry Street Pizza for years, and on our recent visit, we brought our dog and enjoyed the gorgeous weather on their outdoor gravel eating area. It’s always been one of our favorite spots. We started with a Caesar salad—delicious and generously portioned. It arrived super quickly, which was a great start. However, the main event—the pizza—took much longer than expected. When it finally came out, it wasn’t the one we ordered. Thankfully, they fixed the mistake and got us the right pizza, but what should have been a quick lunch turned into a lengthy visit. Our server seemed a bit disconnected, and I actually had to go inside to request a refill because my cup had run dry more than once. Not sure if she was just inefficient or overwhelmed, but they didn’t seem that busy only about half the tables were full. It feels like the new owner might be dealing with some growing pains, especially with staffing. We get it—things happen, and everyone is adjusting. The bottom line? The flavor is still top-notch, and we’ll definitely be back. But, a little extra polish in the service department would make a big difference. To those about to nosh: there might be a delay, but we still salute you!

Our experience here started out strong. We walked up, no wait, and got a table. Within a few minutes, we had our drink and appetizer order placed. After we ordered and received our appetizer a few minutes later, it went downhill. We had the crab dip appetizer and it was fantastic and came out piping hot. After we finished it, another server picked up our dirty plates. Our waitress we started with never returned for the remainder of our meal. The same waiter who picked up our dirty plates noticed we hadn't received our food yet, it had been 30 plus minutes since we finished our appetizer. He said it was coming up shortly and we finally got some much needed refills. I believe the order had got lost or the original waitress never put it in. We received our food and luckily we didn't need anything, because we were never checked on after receiving it. The food was good, some dishes were better than others. We waited a while after we finished our meal but nobody ever brought any more refills or our check. We decided to go up front and pay just so we could leave. I really hope it was an off night for them because we would like to give them another chance.

This place will become a regular now when we are in Southport. I had eaten takeout from here before, and it was really good, but dine-in if you can because it was divine. I had the roast beef and cheese and oh my goodness - fresh toasted bread, either they have to make it or get it locally made. Yes, it was that good. The sandwich had just the right balance with the juicy beef, and gooey mozzarella to balance the zing of the dijonnaise and Italian dressing. I will 100% get this sandwich again. But y'all that bread is so good, I was already salivating thinking how good the meatball sub must be. Next time. I should also say, good greens and tomatoes came on the side, and the chips were fresh and crispy. Oh, my hubs got a small pizza with garlic, spinach, and mushrooms - and yes, it was super yummy too. Can't wait to go back. Oh - if you look at the pic, I had already scarfed down half before I remembered to take a pic.

A cute little place on a street corner with inside, patio and outside seating. They have a list of specials plus the menu. We ordered a salad off the specials that had shrimp and fruit, the grilled cheese special and a chicken wrap sandwich. The restaurant got busy as it was lunch time and we were told there were only 2 waitresses. The food took a while and the salad with shrimp arrived without shrimp. I informed the waitress and she said oh they forgot. Well for $18 I want the shrimp. She put an order in for shrimp. My friends chicken wrap came as a half, which we ordered a whole. By the time the shrimp arrived the others were done with their lunch. When questioned why it took so long and it was not appropriate the waitress referred it to the manager. We then waited for the waitress or manager to come over but we were basically ignored. A woman then asked if we needed anything and we said we were waiting for the manager to resolve our issue. She said I'm the manager and you are the ones "fussing" about the salad? We couldn't believe she said that. Management did not handle this well. The wrap was charged $12 for a half and never told why she only received a half. It can be a wonderful place but not run well. They were overwhelmed and it was a Tuesday lunch. We will not go back, which is too bad because we love to...
