1 STAR ⭐️ FOOD PRICES 💵 💵 4 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ CHEESEBURGER 🍔 🍟 5 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ WHITE SAUCE = 3 STARS ⭐️⭐️⭐️ OVERALL AVERAGE (3.5)
** Glades is one of Utah county’s TOP 5 “old-school” hamburger drive-ins! I wish Google reviews had categories to rate. The only reason I can’t give 5-Stars ⭐️is simply due to the enormous increase in prices. Yes, inflation is at record highs in our country. However… my order was… ( 1 DOUBLE MEAT W/ CHEESE HAMBURGER COMBO MEAL, which includes small fry 🍟, & drink) TOTAL COST = 🟰 $ 11.60. My thoughts as I’m freezing outside waiting (which is totally fine and normal at some drive-ins) was…. 💭 💭 I can literally drive just a few block away from Glades and sit inside “Texas Roadhouse Restaurant” order a salad , fresh hot homemade rolls, then get a sizzling 8 oz. SIRLOIN STEAK 🥩 , with a baked potato 🥔 and fresh vegetables for nearly EXACTLY… ( $1.00 ) 💵 more than I just paid Glades for a cheeseburger 🍔. Don’t get me wrong, I still love Glades, but their prices are LEGIT RIDICULOUS and out of control. You can drive 5 miles to Payson and go to Daily Freeze or Polar Queen or even Santaqueen (all equally old-school drive-ins) which are also in the “Top 5 Utah old-school list” category and on average the same double cheeseburger 🍔 combo meal is only $7.99 ($4.50 less). Hopefully, when the economy is turned around the owner(s) of Glades drops the prices some or at least equal to surrounding drive-ins. Then, I’ll happily change my Google review to all 5-stars like I used to rate Glades a few years ago. Overall, if you don’t mind spending nearly $12.00 for double cheeseburger 🍔 meal, I highly recommend Glades. Their “white sauce” on the burger and with fries 🍟 is the best I’ve ever had and honestly I love Glades food and have for 30+ years. I hope my review helps some of you out. ** Great burgers, amazing white sauce, awesome old school drive-in, sadly though...
Read moreHad a weird experience here. Got a shake, paid with cash, and was given incorrect change, which I didn't notice until I was home. I called them and let them know, and the lady on the phone was nice about it. They said I could pick up the change (which was less than $5, so honestly not a big deal), but then I was offered a $10 gift certificate "for the inconvenience". I didn't think the situation required that, but sure! I'll absolutely take that. A day or two later when I was in the area, I stopped by to pick it up. I was the only one there, and when it was made known who I was, I got glares from pretty much all of the employees, and they all went very quiet. I thought this was odd, but thought it was just my social anxiety. One of the workers, I think a manager, handed me the gift certificate. In fancy cursive, the exact amount I wasn't given in change was written, instead of the $10 they told me they'd do. At this point, I'm really annoyed, because I would have just taken the cash back. Why even offer a gift certificate for that amount in the first place, when I didn't even ask for that, just to not do it while simultaneously being really hostile and rude about it? That's unprofessional and unhinged. I've been back twice since, and every time, most of the workers are really short with customers/in a bad mood, including the manager I met. Dunno what the issue is at this store, but gonna avoid coming here...
Read moreThat wonderful mix of a girl who is excited to get her license today was fun, knowledge, sweet, helpful, happy, and gave a great vibe to everyone who came to her window. She made the experience great and treated every guest like her best friend.
After finding easy and close parking on the side of the building, I saw some people standing around and asked if they were in line. One guy said go to that window and (insert cool girl's name here) will take your order. I responded to him you must come here often if you are on a first name basis with the cool girl taking orders. He laughed and said, "she's just awesome and will take good care of you. Everyone knows her if they come more than once." So as a visitor I now know she's a local hero at making people feel good and giving them good food.
As for the food. It was good but nothing amazing. I was excited about the fries and they were not good this trip. I'll try them again as they just seemed undercooked, a little floppy, and bland. I should have asked for dry sauce or ketchup before I left but didn't think about it and also don't usually need it. The shake was good and chunky with all sorts of goodies.
Because my experience with cool girl about to get her license was positive and everything going on in that kitchen seemed to be happy and on the up and up, I'd like to give them another try if I pass...
