I just learned about this theater and we thought the current play, The Phantom Breaks the Opera, sounded fun so we got tickets and went this past Friday. If anyone were to rate this theater poorly, they must be comparing it to larger productions and budgets-when in the category for this type of theater, it was great. The playhouse is well kept and perfect for community theater. The actors and actresses did a great job. The writing was well done and I was really impressed with the music; the composer managed to replicate the feel of certain phantom songs that everyone is familiar with without just ripping off the song. And the lyrics were funny and well matched. The girl who played Kristien did a terrific job of being "unsure of what to do" while being so well prepared she was able to pull off the act without being over the top or annoying. Her singing was impressive! I also felt the Phantom sang very well, especially his low notes! The nods and jabs at the book were fun and followed my own impressions that some things in the book were just too random. Carlotta was very enjoyable. She played the diva well without making you want to plug your ears. Her singing was very well done and I enjoyed her performance. I hope we will be able to come again soon. I think several of the upcoming performances sound fun and hope to be...

Read moreThe theater itself was very nice and I enjoyed the local feel! I appreciate how the entire cast and crew were volunteers. However, my first experience with their productions was not a positive one. The writing for “The Phantom Breaks the Opera” was definitely not my cup of tea. There was much more of a slapstick comedy and many of the bits they were trying to do I couldn’t follow. I think there was so much going on that it left me and my family confused throughout the entire first act. It seemed to try to borrow from aspects of “The Play That Goes Wrong” without the proper execution. I was really excited for this production but had to leave during intermission with the rest of my group as the play left us unamused and disappointed. Maybe the real prize was the second act and we left too soon but the first half was a hard watch. I would love to return to this theater for a different production and hope the theater chooses plays and musicals that are better executed and...
