⭐️⭐️½ – “Two little ponies... trotting in the circle of mediocrity.”
“Not terrible. Not great. Just another Utah Mexican restaurant doing the bare minimum.”
Los 2 Potrillos in Spanish Fork isn't the worst experience I've had—but it might be the most average. From the food to the service to the sleepy energy in the building, it’s the kind of place where you leave thinking, “Well… that happened.”
Here’s what hit the table:
🐖 Carnitas Plate – 6.2 Or should I say, “Carnitas-adjacent”? Because what arrived wasn’t the crispy, golden, pork confetti I was hoping for—it was more of a wet, pepper-heavy shredded pork stew. Tasted decent, but texturally? Total letdown. No caramelized bits, no crunch, no carnitas joy. Just soft pork sadness in sauce.
🌶️ Mole Poblano – 6.1 I’ll give it this: it looked like mole. But the flavor said “maybe canned”, and the temperature said “definitely microwaved.” Parts of the plate were cold while the edges were steaming like they’d been blasted in sections. Not the worst mole I’ve ever had—but definitely not the kind you brag about later.
🥤 Service: Our drinks were refilled exactly once. We waited 15 minutes for the check as the only people in the place, while the two waitresses sat in the booth next to us, eating and chatting like they were off the clock. Still, they were friendly, just... not particularly interested in being servers at the time.
💸 Value: Overpriced for what you're getting—especially considering there are other nearby spots offering better flavor, bigger portions, and actual attention.
Bottom line: 🌮 Carnitas weren’t carnitas. Mole felt canned. Expectations were gently lowered. ⏳ Friendly staff, but the check might arrive sometime next week. 💵 Overpriced for being this middle-of-the-road.
Two and a half stars. Not a disaster—just another Utah Mexican joint...
Read moreOur family has been going to Los 2 Potrillos in Spanish Fork, Utah since the day it opened, and it has truly become one of our favorite places to eat. The atmosphere is incredibly warm and family-friendly — the kind of place where you feel genuinely welcomed every time you walk through the door.
Over the years, we've gotten to know many of the employees and even the owner, and it’s been such a pleasure watching the restaurant grow while still keeping that personal, caring touch. They always go out of their way to make sure we’re taken care of, whether we’re coming in for a quick meal or celebrating something special.
The food is always delicious, the service is consistently great, and the environment is perfect for families. It’s more than just a restaurant for us — it’s a place filled with good memories and great people. We’re so grateful for Los 2 Potrillos and look forward to many more...
Read moreOrdered the chili Verde burrito. Great portions I couldn't even finish it all. Unlike other places they STUFFED the burrito with pork. I just wish the chili Verde had flavor the color green (verde) was there but the flavor wasn't present. Pork tasted alright it had a similar flavor to a pork roast which isn't bad just odd to me (I've had alot of chili verde). Beans were okay and the rice was okay. Atmosphere is that of any typical Mexican restaurant. Service was FINE 😉 my waitress didn't seem to care to much about working there but she did come to check on me a few times. THE PRICE WAS OUTRAGEOUS!!!! With the burrito and a drink my meal was over 18 dollars if you add in a tip like I did your spending like 25 bucks for a meal. I suggest giving the place a try but definitely don't put it at the top...
