It was a decent burger and fresh fries, made promptly. But it was too expensive, and I was overcharged by a disgruntled assistant manager. The service was lacking. The Asst. Manager who took my order had a bitter attitude and poor communication skills.
As I was figuring out some confusion with the menu, I asked the manager a question about two similarly named burgers, and what the difference between the two were. I asked "Are these two burgers the same?" He simply said "No", but wouldn't elaborate. Seconds later I again asked him how they differ, and he finally told me it was in the condiments inside, with a dismissive tone.
So I ordered an Angus Burger and Small Fries instead, but the price on the machine came up to the same price as the combo price was listed, so I said, "it is the same price? In that case I will take the combo." Then this manager rolled his eyes like a teenager, and got quiet and was figuring out the order kiosk.
I had just ordered the 1/3 Jalapeno Burger which was posted as $8.99, and the final total came out to 10.38. I was shocked, and when I asked him how it was so expensive, the manager said he didn't know, and that I can look at the receipt after I paid.
So on the receipt -as I suspected- had the incorrect amount for the meal. The total for the combo before tax was sold at $9.59, not $8.99 like it was advertised. When I pointed this out to him, he just tried to mislead me as he pointed at the discount amount (sort of like like a car salesman would), and ignoring the fact it still is 9.59. He then changed his story to claiming " it is the system that put that price."
So I confronted him, telling him that he was rude and had poor customer service. He became uncomfortable and just shrugged and said "I don't know what you want to do", without offering to credit the amount back to my card, but just stood hoping I would leave. I told him I would take care of the dispute and speak to the GM. As I walked away, I can hear the manager talking with the staff in Spanish and laughing.
I feel that the staff, or this manager in question, is not used to having anyone complain, let alone ask questions about the food. And I feel he must not have been trained properly in customer service. It was not a lot of money lost. But to me it was the principle, and his poor attitude throughout the whole interaction which led me to show my discontent with this business.
I won't go to this place unless they sort themselves out. This is America. We are supposed to have the best customer service based businesses...
Read moreI made a mobile order thinking I'd be in and out pretty quickly. I went inside to get my order and saw there were only 2 people working, so I figured it might take a bit in spite of there being not many customers. After about 10 minutes I finally ask why I'm seeing people who arrived and ordered AFTER me get their food? The guy behind the counter snapped at me that there are only 2 of them!
Then I ask if my order could be canceled and he grabbed the receipt, which I never got a copy of and told me the only way to cancel was online. I waited longer. Saw people who were in the drive through and coming in after me get their food. The woman in the kitchen area slapped my food together and when I got home, didn't even do it according to the order! I didn't add or take away anything! I can't believe how much money I spent for the cold food, put together incorrectly.
I get that there are almost no people taking care of things, but is there no direction with the way things go? I thought the order was at least prepared in the order it was received? If there are only 2 people working there, why is that so difficult to follow?
It's too much money to...
Read moreThere is no dine-in and since there is minimal staffing, the counter take out is closed at this location. So it is drive thru only. Let me state - complaining won't magically produce more employees. Don't be a complainer or jerk when going to one of these fast food places, be solutions oriented. Everyone knows someone who could use a job. Recommend them to apply at any of these fast food locations so they can provide better service!
The order was pleasantly taken and while there were 8 cars deep, it did take about 25 minutes to finally get the order. The food was accurately made but I think they may have short cut some of the cooking time to get the orders out as the fries weren't as hot/crispy as usual as was the burger was warm but not hot.
So, would I visit Carl's Jr again in the future? I don't see why not, it can only get...
