We had a little extra money to splurge on a good pizza, so we called Papa John's Pizza last Saturday evening (the 28th of November). We decided to try something different, so my Hubby ordered the Double Cheeseburger Pizza.
First of all, the Papa John's on Sparks Blvd has always been top notch and if we ever have a problem, they took care of it in a friendly, cordial way. We've really never had any complaints, just delicious pizza. They are usually 4 and 5 stars!
Most of the time, anyway...
The pizza arrived in a timely manner, the delivery person was polite and friendly, pizza was hot, and we were hungry!
First thing that hit us was the amount of tangy sauce and, oh my goodness, so many pickles in it! I took a total of three bites, each time, pulling out two or three pickles. I love pickles, but, whoa doggies, that's a LOT of pickles! A lot! Like, almost a whole jarful's worth.
The tangy sauce and excessive amount of pickles made the pizza unpalatable.
Where's the beef? I found some hamburger, but it was fine, itty-bitty crumbles, almost like taco meat. Very sparse amount of meat, probably not even enough to fill a large spoon.
They really skimped on the cheese! There were hardly any cheese, bare bottom sauce-covered crust spots everywhere, and hardly any sizeable pieces of hamburger (it IS called a "Double Cheeseburger Pizza," right?), and, oh my gosh, tons of pickles! (Have i told you how much pickles they put on it??? 😖)
I believe, maybe, they loaded up on pickles to make up for the lack of meat and cheese? Sauce and pickles pizza for $15.00.
It should have been renamed "Double Pickle Pizza"!
Hubby called Papa John's to complain about the 'lack of ingredients' on the pizza (not about the taste of the Cheeseburger) and the fella on the other line just said "it's just a limited time promotion, some will like it, some won't." It was a very dismissive response.
The person on the other line missed the point, the complaint was for the moderate lack of cheese and hamburger, there were hardly any on it, lots of bare, sauce-covered bottom of the crust. It was just a pickle pizza. The pizza appeared to have been thrown together haphazardly in a rush. Very disappointing.
I emailed and messaged their company, and I'm not getting any response.
I'm so sad, what a waste of money, and we don't have a lot to...
Read moreThis review may get a little weird because I'm just so damn happy and excited about the deliciousness that we just wolfed down.
First of all, I'd like to thank this location for opening because I'm finally able to enjoy pizza the way pizza should be enjoyed. I was previously forced to order from an inadequate and frankly impolite franchise who couldn't get an order right if the world depended on it... I digress... I grew up in the big OH where the Papa was the only pizza place other than the hole in the wall, that was anywhere close let alone delicious. When we moved here, I was devestated to find out that there weren't even any locations out here! When one finally popped up, they wouldn't deliver to my address and I'm frankly too lazy to drive over and pick up a pie (sad, but true). I came across a gift card today that was gifted years ago and thought "Let's give it a try"... I put in my address and then the computer screen beamed rays of sun light on me and the pizza angels started singing... (I told you this could get weird)
Secondly.... the delivery person that I had was the NICEST delivery person that has come to our door basically EVER. He went over the order with me to make sure he grabbed everything, he gave loves to my over eager dog who was trying to lick the pizza smell off of him and he was just overall a good and gracious human being. I wish I got his name so I can give him the recognition he deserves with his manager.
Third...I hope they understand that I'll be ordering on bi-monthly basis and that we're going to become best friends.
Fourth... IF YOU HAVEN'T ORDERED FROM THIS LOCATION YET, YOU'RE INSANE. GET...
Read moreI tried to order by phone and was on the line for about 20 minutes with an older lady who couldn’t get my name, phone number or address correct. I was calling in for delivery at the TA truck stop. About 1.5 miles away. After being hung up on by this lady I decided to just use the App to order. I ordered a Medium extra cheese extra pepperoni and 16 Buffalo wings and I paid with a card. An hour later when my food was delivered I noticed I had a small pepperoni pizza and 11 wings. No Buffalo. I tried calling to get the order corrected but nobody answered. I called the next day and Joseph decided he wants to acuse me of stealing and wanting to scam them because according to them I ordered twice and walked in to pick up an order. I ordered to the truck stop because I am a truck driver if I could’ve picked it up I wouldn’t be ordering for delivery. He claims those wings are Buffalo. There is obviously no Buffalo sauce on that. I was not asking to be completely refunded I was asking to be charged what I got delivered. He hung up on me twice without giving me an explanation of how we will proceed with this charge. Extremely rude and extremely...
