Coffee N' Comics — Restaurant in Sparks

Beware, owners, one of your employees is actively hurting your business.

I’ve been a loyal customer of Coffee and Comics for years. The atmosphere, coffee, and staff have always been consistently great, except for one particular employee, who has repeatedly been rude not only to me but to others as well.

On multiple occasions, I’ve witnessed her being short and dismissive with customers. I’ve even had friends mention avoiding her and recommending I order with someone else instead.

The last straw was this week. I walked in on a good day, smiled, and greeted her with a friendly “Hey, how you doing?” Her response? A cold, “What do you want?” When I called out the attitude and reminded her I was just asking how she was, she muttered a half-hearted “Sorry, what can I get you?” clearly just trying to rush me along. I decided I didn’t want to support that kind of energy and said, “Never mind, I guess I’m gonna leave,” to which she cheerfully replied, “Yes!”

That level of disrespect is shocking and unacceptable. It’s unfortunate because the rest of the staff have always made this place feel welcoming. But one bad apple like this can seriously damage a business’s reputation. I hope management addresses this issue, Coffee and Comics...

Absolutely everyone who works here is a fantastic human being. We've been coming here nearly every week for months now and it's our go to spot.

I want to note that this morning the music playlist was different than usual - it was really calming and I recognized a lot of music from some of my favorite media (namely Stardew Valley.) It was great to have variation! You guys continue to surprise me and I truly love it here. Shout out to Emmy, Meg, Megan, Sabrina, Courtney, Ariyah (I hope that's spelt correctly), and everyone I've forgotten - my apologies, you're still awesome!

Original Review: This has been a gem of a find since moving to Sparks. A local coffee shop (with another in Reno) with kind and laid back staff who make excellent coffee. They host multiple events every month and have a bar that opens after 5pm. I personally have not had those drinks yet, but the names are fun and the descriptions...

We always enjoy visiting here, whether just us adults or with our young-adult children. Fun drinks, a small selection of treats and food.

Fun theme decor and shopping, everything from Harry Potter to Marvel to animes new and classic.

Games available for purchase or play. We like to bring our own. Music is not too loud. TV's play. D&D and other such things are regularly held there.

Servers and guests are usually friendly and widely varied. You're going to see "normal" people as well as weird piercings and bright hair color. All being very chill.

Has a well stocked bar area with stool tables off limits to minors.
